According to the world wrestling body, if a wrestler misses the weight, he/she is given the last place in the competition. For the unversed, Vinesh Phogat qualified in the 50kg weight category on August 6, 2024. During her stint in the Olympics 2024, she defeated World No. 1 Yui Susaki in the opening round and qualified for the quarter-final and the semi-final. Every morning, a medical examination is conducted before the competition, and the weight of all the boxers competing on that particular day is checked. After that, each boxer is provided with a post-bout medical examination. Talking about Vinesh Phogat, she was on a 15-month-long break and returned in January 2024. Back then, she was competing in the women's 53kg permissible limit and even participated in the same category at the Tokyo Olympics.
