Vinod Khanna Lost Control During An Intimate Scene With Madhuri Dixit, Forcefully Kissed And Bit Her

The reigning star of Bollywood, Vinod Khanna, made a name for himself in Hindi cinema when legends like Sunil Dutt, Amitabh Bachchan, and Rishi Kapoor were ruling the industry. Recognised for his style and fashion, Vinod was hailed as the most good-looking actor. He made his acting debut in 1968 and initially did roles of an antagonist.

He made his presence felt in the industry with films such as Mere Apne, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Achanak, Amar Akbar Anthony, Qurbani, and many others. Apart from his film career, Vinod was a spiritual seeker and a political figure. Vinod Khanna battled cancer and passed away in 2017. The veteran actor has been embroiled in numerous controversies throughout his life. However, the one which attracted a lot of criticism was when he forcibly kissed actress, Madhuri Dixit.

The story goes back to 1988, during the shooting of the film, Dayavan, when Vinod Khanna and Madhuri Dixit were shooting for the same. Vinod was a popular actor, while Madhuri was still establishing her name in the industry. 

The film is popular for one of its songs, Aaj Phir Tum Pe Pyaar Aaya Hai, which was picturized on Vinod and Madhuri. While shooting the lovemaking scene in the song, Vinod allegedly lost his control and continued kissing 20-year-old Madhuri despite the director yelling cut.

Vinod Khanna bit Madhuri Dixit’s lips and left her bleeding

The situations went out of hand when Vinod kept kissing Madhuri for five minutes and even bit her lips. It was a shocking and devastating moment for the actress as she was left bleeding. She couldn’t stop crying after the shot and Vinod later apologised to the actress.

Feroz Khan reportedly paid Rs. 1 crore for the lovemaking scene between Vinod Khanna and Madhuri Dixit

After Dayavan's release, the kissing scene sparked considerable controversy. Feroz Khan, who was the director of the film, was sent a legal notice to remove that scene but he didn’t. Even Madhuri Dixit requested Feroz to remove the scene, however, the veteran actor turned director paid Rs. 1 crore and retained the scene in the film. When the film released, it became a blockbuster, however, Madhuri never worked with Vinod after Dayavan.

When Vinod Khanna spoke about his need for sex

When Vinod Khanna was at the peak of his career, he took a five-year hiatus from films to follow the spiritual guru, Osho Rajneesh. In a throwback interview, Vinod once shared his need for wine and women and said:

“Well, I was a bachelor, and I am no saint as far as women are concerned. I need sex as much as anybody else does. Without women we won't be here, without sex we won't be here, so why should anybody object to my being with women."

Vinod Khanna was married to his childhood sweetheart, Geetanjali Taleyarkhan, and was a proud parent to Rahul Khanna and Akshay Khanna. When Vinod decided to join Osho, his wife, Geetanjali filed for divorce. After returning from the Osho ashram, Vinod fell in love with Kavita Daftary and married her in 1990. The couple was blessed with a son and a daughter.
