Sitarist, Rishab Rikhiram Sharma has been grabbing the headlines of lately with his swift skills to play sitar. The way he donned his two hands with mehendi and played sitar proved his deep-rooted love for Indian classical music. Rishab started playing sitar when he was only 10 years old, and he is believed to be the last disciple of sitar legend Pandit Ravi Shankar. Well, Rishab recently got called out for his comment on Ed Sheeran's post.

Ed Sheeran, known for his famous songs like Perfect, Photograph, Shape Of You, and Thinking Out Loud, among so many others, recently tried his hand at sitar. Taking to his IG handle, he shared a clip, wherein he was seen practising the musical instrument. While his keen interest in Indian classical music has left people in awe, it was Rishab, whose comment brought him mixed reactions.

Taking to the comment section, Rishab penned 'Shoes (followed by a crying emoticon)'. While the context of his comment couldn't be clearly perceived, it ended up sparking a debate among netizens. No sooner did he drop the comments, several users replied in an affirmative tone and supported Rishab, while some users called him 'jealous'.

Well, it was on the discussion platform, Reddit, wherein several screenshots of Rishab were shared, wherein he, himself, could be seen playing sitar by wearing shoes. As the screengrab went viral, netizens rushed to the comment section and called him out, thereby tagging him as 'fake'. One user commented, "Let’s all go to his Instagram and comment SHOES, on all those posts lol." Another user wrote, "Everyone should just make the same comment "shoes" under all these posts just to call him out." Some users even supported Rishab on Reddit and suggested that he could comment, giving the context that Sheeran was wearing the shoes indoors, while his photos are from an outdoor location, thus one shouldn't compare. One comment in Rishab's support could be read:

"Stop hating him unnecessarily. All the comments I read from people who are dancers or instrument players pointed out the same. So Rishab isn't wrong here."

Back in 2022, Rishab was called to the White House to play sitar for For Mental Health set in Joe Biden’s annual Diwali celebrations.
