For the unversed, their baby boy was born on February 15, 2024, in London. However, the couple announced the good news five days later, on February 20, 2024, by issuing a joint post on their social media handle. The couple is already parents to their three-year-old daughter, Vamika.
Well, ever since Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli announced the birth of their son, Akaay, speculations have been rife that the baby boy will hold a British citizenship, since he was born in London. And now, a report by Sports Tak has clarified that Akaay won’t actually be eligible to hold a British citizenship, even though he was reportedly born in London. As per their law, no child born in the United Kingdom can automatically get a citizenship of that country, and it can only be possible if either one of his parents is a British citizen by birth, or has acquired it by residing in the country for quite a long time.

Moreover, the report also added that while Akaay’s passport will be issued in UK, but he would still be considered an Indian citizen. However, Virat and Anushka’s son can only become a British citizen if he manages to reside in UK until he turned 10 years old. At that time, the celeb parents can easily apply for their son’s British citizenship and passport.

According to Sanskrit scriptures of Hinduism, ‘Akaay’ refers to something which is eternal and without decay. It is also another name for Lord Shiva. Interestingly, Anushka and Virat’s firstborn daughter, Vamika’s name has a similar spiritual connection, and it referred to another name of the Hindu goddess, Parvati.

If reports are to be believed, the glimpse of the cricketer was from his time in London, where he and his wifey, Anushka Sharma welcomed their son, Akaay into the world. Virat looked handsome in a black puffer jacket teamed with denim and a cap.
