While in the limited-over formats, Virat has returned to his absolute best and is currently trying to translate the same in the Tests too. So far, Virat has scored 111 runs in the Border-Gavakar Trophy, and with the pitch being in favour of the batters, chances are high that Virat would be aiming to break his three-figure deadlock in the Tests so far. Virat Kohli admits 'meeting Anushka Sharma' was a life-changing moment for him

In the latest episode of RCB Podcast, Virat Kohli was asked to name the life-changing moment of his life so far. Answering this, Virat admitted that meeting the love of his life, Anushka Sharma was undoubtedly the biggest moment of his life. The cricketer stated that after meeting Anushka, he saw a completely different side of life. From the perspective of the environment, the cricketer added that it was a significant moment for him to see the world from a different point of view. Virat also explained how he opened himself to new changes as he was in love with Anushka, and everything turned out quite brilliantly for him. He said:

"I would say a life-changing moment would be when I met Anushka, because I saw a different side of life. It wasn't similar to my environment; it was a different perspective, a different point of view, so that's what is life-changing. Because when you fall in love, you start processing those changes within you as well, because you have to move together. So, to do that, you have to open yourself up; you need to accept a lot of things, and that for me was life-changing."

Virat Kohli on why his father's death was not a life-changing moment for him

Further, in the same interview, Virat Kohli opened up about his father, Prem Kohli’s demise. When the cricketer was asked whether the sudden demise of his dad was a life-changing moment for him, Virat said 'no'. While revealing the answer behind it, the cricketer admitted that after his father’s death, his outlook towards things had changed, but when it came to his life, it was quite the same for him. The doting son also added that after his father’s demise, he became more motivated towards his dream of making it big in life. He stated:

"When my father passed away, that was more like, my outlook towards things changed, but my life didn't change as such. Life around was same as before. The incident gave me a lot of resilience, a lot of focus on what I want to do in life, and a lot of motivation to realise my dream, but it wasn't life-changing. I was still playing cricket, I was still doing what I had to do, and the environment was quite similar."

For the unversed, it was on December 19, 2006, when Virat Kohli’s father, Prem Kohli passed away due to a heart attack at the age of 54. At the time of his death, Virat Kohli was just 18, and just like every child in the world, it was a heartbreaking moment for him. However, once in an interview with CNN, Virat Kohli opened up about his decision to play the crucial Ranji Trophy match the following day after his father, Prem Kohli’s death. It is still one of the most significant moments in Virat’s cricketing career, and he admitted that his decision not to give up on cricket that day changed him completely.

Recalling the same, Virat Kohli admitted that after his father passed in the night, he called his Delhi coach and told him he would like to play the match the following day. The decision was tough for him, but Virat admitted that he needed to take that difficult call as he stated that leaving a cricket match incomplete is nothing less than a sin for him. The cricketer’s true determination towards cricket is what makes him one of the greatest athletes in the world.
