In the year 2008, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the ODI captain of the Indian cricket team, and due to Virender Sehwag's low scores in his last matches, the former dropped him in their series against Australia.

The decision reportedly left a massive crack between the two cricketers. Once, in an interview with Cricbuzz, Sehwag revealed that when MS Dhoni took the decision to drop him, he got so depressed that he thought of announcing his retirement.

Recalling the same, Virender Sehwag also added in that very moment it was Sachin Tendulkar, who stopped him from taking such a big decision in the heat of the moment.
