It was on December 6, 2023, when Dr Vivek Bindra and Yanika tied the marital knot, and the entire social media congratulated the couple for their happily ever after. However, to everyone's shock, weeks after their marriage, Yanika and her brother filed a complaint in Noida's sector-126 police station against Vivek, accusing him of domestic violence. It was on December 14 when the complaint was registered, and as per reports, Vivek is booked under Sections 323, 504, 427 and 325 of the IPC.

In his confession to the police, Yanika Kwatra's brother, Vaibhav Kwatra, revealed that it was on December 7, 2023, the day after his sister's marriage with Vivek Bindra, when the latter abused her. Vaibhav shared that Vivek was arguing with his mother, and when his sister (Yanika) intervened to calm things down, his brother-in-law started beating her. Not only this, sharing the details of the abuse, Vaibhav revealed that Vivek had beaten his sister so brutally that she has marks all over her body, she is unable to hear properly, and even some of her hair was torn out.
Vaibhav Kwatra also stated that when Vivek Bindra domestically abused his sister, Yanika, he struck her that she had a wound on her head, because of which she was feeling dizzy. As a result, she was admitted straight to the Kailash Deepak Hospital in Delhi. Also, after their fight, Vivek broke Yanika's smartphone, as per her brother, Vaibhav. After registering all the serious allegations of domestic violence in the complaint, the police filed an FIR against Vivek under the 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 323 (causing hurt), 427 (mischief), and 504 (insult to provoke breach of peace) of the IPC. Now that the case is wide open on social media as soon as the case made its way into the media headlines, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Rajneesh Verma opened up about the same and stated that all the allegations and accusations from both sides would be examined thoroughly.
