As the world slowly eases back to their regular lives amidst the pandemic, India seems to become the global hotspot and the most adversely affected nation with the escalating number of cases. With the Unlock phase in India, the citizens have resumed their work but are instructed to move out only with the precautions. But the situation doesn't seem to ease away. On July 11, 2020, Amitabh Bachchan had informed that he was tested positive and was admitted to Nanavati Hospital, Mumbai. Big B had tweeted, "I have tested COVID positive... shifted to Hospital, hospital informing authorities... family and staff undergone tests, results awaited. All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested!" Later, Abhishek Bachchan had informed that he was also tested positive with the virus and had mild symptoms. While everyone in the Bachchan household had gotten themselves tested, the reports of Jaya Bachchan came negative while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aaradhya Bachchan tested positive in the second round.
When Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan had informed that they were tested positive with the virus and reports had come out of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aaradhya Bachchan having mild symptoms, get well soon wishes from their friends and fans have been pouring in since then. Vivek Oberoi too, wished the Bachchan clan a speedy recovery and tweeted, "Wishing @SrBachchan sir & @juniorbachchan a speedy recovery. We’re all praying for you! Get well super soon! Take care." Amitabh Bachchan, who is in the isolation ward at Nanavati Hospital, Mumbai, thanked his fans for the wishes and wrote in his gratitude tweet, "It shall not be possible for me to acknowledge and respond to all the prayers and wishes expressed by them that have shown concern towards Abhishek, Aishwarya, Aaradhya and me... I put my hands together and say ..Folded hands. Thank you for your eternal love and affection to them that have expressed their concern, their prayers and their wishes for Abhishek Aishwarya Aaradhya and me... my unending gratitude and love."

Abhishek Bachchan too, had shared a post on Instagram, informing everyone about their diagnosis and requested his fans to stay calm and not panic. Junior B had written, "Yesterday, both my father and I tested positive for COVID-19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. The BMC has been in touch and we are complying with them. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you."
Abhishek Bachchan had also informed that his wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan will be self-quarantining at home as they were tested positive with mild symptoms and had revealed that his mother, Jaya Bachchan's reports came negative. He had tweeted, "Aishwarya and Aaradhya have also tested COVID-19 positive. They will be self quarantining at home. The BMC has been updated of their situation and are doing the needful.The rest of the family including my Mother have tested negative. Thank you all for your wishes and prayers."
A day after Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were tested positive with the virus, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation had declared the actor's residence, Jalsa as a containment zone. Due to the diagnosis, the professional work of Big B and Abhishek have, reportedly, been postponed. While Big B had a few film and television projects lined up for completion, Abhishek had to resume the post-production work as soon as the lockdown was eased. In August, Abhishek was also supposed to resume his work on Sujoy Ghosh's 'Bob Biswas' in Kolkata. But now, it seems like their professional commitments will be pushed back.
