Wagh Bakri is one of the biggest multinational companies in the FMCG sector. Narandas Desai founded it on September 22, 1980, and if the reports are to be believed, Wagh Bakri's primary company, GTPPL (Gujarat Tea Processors and Packers Limited), is the third-largest packaged tea company in India. As of now, Piyush Desai is the chairman and managing director of the company, while Parag Desai was the executive director.
As of now, on October 23, 2023, there has been no official announcement about the new executive director of Wagh Bakri after the unfortunate demise of Parag at the mere age of 49. For the unversed, it was on October 15, 2023, when Parag went out of his residence for a morning walk when some local street dogs attacked him. The businessman fell on the ground while saving himself from the severe attack by the street dogs. Unfortunately, when he fell on the road, he suffered a major injury on his head.

It was back in the 1990s when Parag Desai joined his brother, Paras Desai, in their family business of Wagh Bakri. The youngster implied all the knowledge he had gained after studying for an MBA from Long Island University, USA. If we go into detail about the exact responsibilities of Parag in Wagh Bakri, he was heading the export, marketing and sales departments of his company. Along with this, he was also renowned as one of the best tea tasters in the tea industry.
Another interesting thing about Parag Desai is the fact that during his entrepreneurship, Wagh Bakri's turnover exceeded the Rs. 1500 crore mark, which had never happened in the company's history. One of the prime reasons why Wagh Bakri thrived under his mentorship is because he always used to experiment with the ideas that were making a lot of noise in the industry. Not only this, Parag was also a part of the Federation of Indian Industry, courtesy of his incredible abilities as a tea taster.
