The much-awaited teaser for War 2 has officially dropped, and it’s nothing short of explosive. Featuring a highly anticipated showdown between Bollywood’s Greek God, Hrithik Roshan, and the South megastar, Jr NTR, the teaser has already set the internet ablaze with excitement. The visual spectacle, graphics and the high-octane drama have already had fans hooked as they are anticipating it to be a blockbuster of 2025. However, it is not just the high-octane visual spectacle of the teaser that has been grabbing headlines, it’s the hefty paychecks that the star cast is taking home from War 2. Take a look!
Ever since his powerful performance in S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus, RRR, Jr NTR has emerged as one of the most sought-after stars in Indian cinema. So when news broke about his Bollywood debut in War 2, it wasn’t surprising that the South superstar would command a hefty paycheck. However, it still sent shockwaves through the industry when reports revealed that Jr NTR has reportedly charged a staggering Rs. 60 crore for his role in the action-packed sequel.
The RRR star is playing a formidable antagonist, and if the teaser is any indication, his intense face-off with Hrithik is all set to become the cinematic clash of the year. While earlier reports suggested that NTR had agreed to a paycheck of Rs. 30 crore, according to the latest updates by Koimoi, the actor has charged Rs. 15 crore more than his RRR salary (Rs. 45 crore), which makes the Devara actor the one of the highest-paid stars in the high-octane spy drama. However, confirmation from the actor’s team has not been received yet.
On the other hand, returning with his role as ‘Major Kabir Dhaliwal’, Hrithik Roshan is reportedly pocketing a whopping Rs. 48 crore for this action-packed sequel. This time’s fee is a notch higher than his previous works under the YRF banner, after his massive success of the first instalment, War (2019).
This time, Kiara Advani will be joining the spy universe, and she is reportedly set to star opposite Hrithik as his on-screen love interest. For her powerful role in this big-budget thriller sequel, Kiara is also taking home a thick paycheck. According to reports, Kiara has charged Rs. 15 crore for the project, her highest remuneration to date.

After the success of Bramhastra, film director Ayan Mukerji is returning to his directorial venture with War 2, which will also be his debut as a director in a spy universe. The filmmaker is said to have charged Rs. 32 crore for helming War 2, making him one of the highest-paid directors in Bollywood today.
Popular television actor, Shabbir Ahluwalia, is also making a presence in the film, and for his role, he has reportedly charged between Rs. 30-35 lakhs by the makers. While his role is still under wraps, it’s a matter of waiting to see how the television heartthrob fits into the high-stakes plot.
Other than these actors, rumours are rife that John Abraham is also set to make a special appearance in the film. If reports are to be believed, the The Diplomat actor will possibly reprise his role as ‘Jim’ from Shah Rukh Khan starrer, Pathaan. While his exact fee remains undisclosed, insiders hint that it’s a ‘hefty amount’ that fits his screen presence. Speculation is also rife about Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, Alia Bhatt’s Alpha, and possibly Salman Khan’s Tiger making surprise appearances.
War 2, slated for release on August 14, 2025, is being dubbed one of the most expensive Bollywood action films ever made, with a budget of Rs. 200 crore, and it was shot across six international locations — including Spain, Italy, Abu Dhabi, Russia, Japan, and India. A pan-Indian blockbuster in the making, War 2 will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
