Kid Rock has once again got involved in a new controversy after he shared a video on his X handle. Initially, it appeared to be a simple video shot near his home's pool, but soon two military helicopters were seen over his Nashville home, sparking a debate. Soon, questions surfaced about whether the video was real or fake, and now the US Army has responded.
Robert James Ritchie, better known as Kid Rock, recently stumbled into controversy after he shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) that showed a couple of U.S. Army Apache Helicopters flying unusually low over his home near Nashville, Tennessee. On the other hand, Kid Rock was seen standing by his outdoor pool, applauding and saluting one of the helicopters as it hovered and then flew away. Needless to say, the video soon went viral, sparking questions about whether the aircraft was a part of a military operation, an AI creation or something staged for attention and views.

According to military officials, the helicopters were indeed real. A spokesperson for the 101st Airborne Division, based at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, confirmed to NBC News and local outlets that two AH-64 Apache helicopters were flying on a routine training route over Nashville on March 28, 2027. However, they believe that their presence near Kid Rock’s residence was “entirely coincidental”. At the same time, it was not linked with any specific event or person. But after receiving immense attention, the Army has launched an investigation to review that all the protocols were followed in the same. In their words:
“We take all concerns regarding aircraft operations and their impact on the surrounding community seriously.”

At the same time, Major Montrell Russell told Politico that their review would aim to reconfirm that the mission was carried out as per the initial plan. Also, they intend “to assess the mission and verify compliance with regulations and airspace requirements.” He added that Army aviators are expected to follow strict safety and professional measures, and if they found any violations, they would take the required action. Although there is no indication to date that any rules were broken, it will be important to see the results of the review.

The 55-year-old singer further added his commentary on the vital moment and expressed his support for the military. Simultaneously, he took a dig at the California Governor Gavin Newsom and captioned the video writing, “God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her.” Notably, his post comes amid “No Kings” protests across the country.
