'Wednesday 2' Part 2 Ending Explained: Enid's Sacrifice, Wednesday Saves Tyler, What Happens To Him?

Wednesday, Part 2 has again left viewers in awe, just like Season 1 and Part 1. With several days of waiting, Wednesday fans finally got their hands on Part 2 of Season 2. Well, Part 2 yet again left the viewers with a whole lot of questions, which will possibly be solved in the next season of the series. Over the years, Wednesday has become one of the much-loved shows amid the Netflix junkies and the cinephiles, and with the evolving plot, twists and storyline, the series has even carved a stronger place in the hearts of the audience. So, let's have a look at the explained ending of the series.

Wednesday 2, Part 2: Where is 'Aunt Ophelia'?

The first question on Wednesday, season 2, is about 'Aunt Ophelia'. From her psychic connection to 'Wednesday', to the latter's mom finding similarities between her sister and her daughter, as well as her being 'missing' from their lives, kept the audience hooked by hitting the right chords to increase the excitement. After the 8 episodes, it's revealed that 'Aunt Ophelia' is locked in her mother's basement, demanding that her niece might die. While breadcrumbs about her have been dropped in Season 2, Part 2, it's a clear sign that it will drive one of the major scenes in the third season. Rest assured, her return to the family might hit them like a bomb, as said by Millar:

"Ophelia has been gone a long time. It’s left a hole in Morticia’s life, and a lot of unanswered questions. The re-emergence of Ophelia is going to hit this family like a bomb."

Wednesday 2, Part 2 showed the improvement between 'Wednesday' and 'Morticia's relationship

Along with breadcrumbs about 'Aunt Ophelia', Part 2 of Wednesday 2 also featured the betterment of 'Wednesday' and her mom's relationship, as the latter gifted her her sister's journal. According to the makers, this scene was necessary to convey the emotional arc by showcasing the evolving relationship between a mother and daughter. As 'Morticia' took this big step, 'Wednesday' also felt at ease and acknowledged that in her own way. This emotional arc also might be linked to Part 1, when 'Wednesday' saved her mom from 'Slurp' while fighting.

'Wednesday's long-gone psychic power and 'Enid's sacrifice in Wednesday 2, Part 2

Wednesday 2 began with the lead mastering his psychic abilities and then losing them. Eventually, 'Wednesday' understood that she cannot control everything and that her broken relationship with her mom is dampening her abilities. However, this showed her maturity throughout season 2, and a vision by 'Aunt Ophelia' revealed that 'Wednesday's powers are somewhat restored, which leaves the home for season 3 to take this forward.

One of the major scenes, when 'Enid' sacrificed herself to save 'Wednesday'. 'Enid' from the beginning of season 2 was seen trying to bond with her pack, and as she continues to do so, she turns out to have to experience something else again, but alone, since she is an alpha werewolf. Makers revealed that 'Enid' had everything that she wished for since the beginning of season 2, and then her new abilities turned her into a loner again. 'Enid' knew the danger around her turning into an 'Alpha', but she still did it for her BFF. So, the emotional core remained as deep. Now, 'Enid' will have her adventure as an alpha, who would look out for ways to turn to her human form, while hoping for 'Wednesday' to come and save her.

Why did 'Wednesday' save 'Tyler'? What happened to him? 'Thing's origin revealed with twists

Another of the ending scenes that kept the audience hooked was when it was revealed that 'Francoise' from LOIS was 'Tyler's mother, and her brother was 'Issac Night', an old, brilliant student of Nevermore Academy. During his childhood, he created a machine to free 'Francoise' from her 'hyde' power, and for the same, she used young 'Gomez Addams' to power it, which was stopped by 'Morticia'. She cut 'Isaac's hand, which later became 'Thing'. This is how 'Thing's origin story was revealed.

In Season 2 Part 2, 'Isaac Night' tried to save 'Tyler' from his 'Hyde' power, and this time, he wanted to use 'Pugsley Addams' as his source. 'Wednesday' stopped the experiment by defeating 'Isaac', thereby saving her brother and 'Thing'. During the fight, 'Francoise' was killed by 'Tyler', and even though the latter requested 'Wednesday' to kill him, she said she 'missed it'. This might be a case of that 'Wednesday' had seen something redeemable in 'Tyler' despite her harsh words for him. Following this, Professor 'Capri' promised to take 'Tyler' to a secret 'Hyde' community. So, season three might unfold how 'Tyler' would adapt to the changes, whether he would change, or the old romantic connection between him and 'Wednesday' would re-ignite.

The angles with 'Principal Dort' and 'Grandma Hester Frump'

Two additional elements in the season finale featured two supporting characters: 'Principal Dort' and 'Grandma Hester'. 'Principal Dort' is the mastermind of the Morning Song Cult, who manipulated 'Bianca' while kidnapping her mom. While he was at Nevermore Academy to steal Hester's fortune and wealth, it ultimately led to his tragic death, caused by Ajax. Now, with both 'Weems' and 'Dort's departure in the series, the third season surely opened a place for a new principal at Nevermore Academy.

Talking about 'Grandma Hester', while she appeared to be close to 'Wednesday', her dislike of 'Gomez' and secrets about 'Aunt Ophelia' raised questions about whether she could be trusted or not. Be it anything, one thing is assured: the Wednesday makers left no stone unturned to put layers in the 'Addams' family, which will continue to be unfolded in season 3. So, it's all about the wait now to find out the darkest yet chapters of Wednesday's world?
