Rapper Chris Brown is leading the headlines for his onstage moment with Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole. During his Los Angeles tour stop, Chris Brown pulled Kayla Nicole on stage for his sultry lap dance segment. Nicole, too, didn’t shy away and joined Chris for the performance. The clips instantly made a lot of buzz on social media.

Chris Brown never failed to grab attention, and this is not the first time the singer made headlines. Back in 2009, his tumultuous affair and ugly breakup with Rihanna made a lot of noise. He was even arrested and pleaded guilty to felony assault and was sentenced to five years of probation as well as counselling. Chris Brown and Rihanna’s affair

It was in 2004 when Rihanna and Chris Brown met for the first time at a concert. She was 16 and he was 15 during that time, and since then, their friendship has begun. After Rihanna won a Grammy for her song, Umbrella, Chris collaborated with her. Their chemistry was unmatched, and soon rumours of their affair began. However, the couple didn’t initially acknowledge the rumours, but later admitted that they were into each other and soon became the power couple of Hollywood.

Chris Brown and Rihanna were supposed to perform during the 2009 Grammys; however, the duo abruptly cancelled their highly anticipated performance. It was later revealed that Rihanna was brutally beaten by Chris the night before the Grammys, leaving her with multiple bruises and a swollen face. Many pictures of Rihanna surfaced online, in which the singer was seen in a hospital with a bruised face and black eyes.

Chris Brown was arrested and sentenced to five years of probation

Chris Brown was eventually arrested for felony assault. He pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to five years of probation, as well as community service and domestic violence counselling. On the other hand, Rihanna filed for a restraining order, and Chris was prohibited from being within 50 yards of her.

In his 2017 documentary, Chris Brown: Welcome To My Life, the rapper spoke about assaulting Rihanna and also stated that he felt like a monster. In his words:

“My trust totally was lost with her. She hated me after that. I tried everything, she didn’t care. She just didn’t trust me after that. From there, it just went downhill because there were too many verbal fights, physical fights as well. Mutual sides.”

In 2012, Rihanna and Chris Brown rekindled their love and gave their relationship another chance. She was hopelessly in love with the rapper and even confessed to the same to Oprah Winfrey on her talk show. Revealing how he was the true love of her life, Rihanna said:

“We’ve built a trust again, and that’s it. We love each other and we probably always will. That’s not anything that we’re going to try to change. That’s not something you can shut off if you’ve ever been in love.”

In the same interaction, Rihanna also revealed that she had dropped the restraining order and had forgiven him. Rihanna also stated that it took her a long time to forgive Chris as she was resentful and held a grudge towards him. The singer also revealed that her music and outfits also revealed her emotions, as it was all dark.

Chris Brown and Rihanna’s final breakup was reportedly over a baby

After Chris and Rihanna rekindled their love, she made it clear to him that she was very serious about him and wanted to start a family with him. As per sources, Rihanna was keen on the idea of starting a family with Chris. However, Chris felt that the two were too young for the same.

Shortly after Rihanna spoke about her emotions, Chris went on The Kyle & Jackie O radio show and stated that he was not focused on ‘wife-ing’ Rihanna. He also revealed that he and Rihanna want different things from life. In his words:

“At the end of the day she’s a young girl. I can’t really be focused on wife-ing somebody that young… and I’m young too. I just got to step forward and be a man and be the best Chris Brown I can be instead of worrying about whoever else is going to be in my side pocket.”

Chris’s interview broke Rihanna’s heart as she realised how they desired different things in life. Soon after the interview, the couple broke up and went their separate ways in their respective lives.
