According to a report by Asianet News, Raju suffered a heart attack on October 12, 2025, and was immediately shifted to Manipal Hospital and passed away the next day due to ineffective treatment. He is survived by his two wives and five children.

Veteran actor and comedian, Raju Talikote has passed away following a heart attack in Udupi, Karnataka. The news of his untimely death has left the film and theatre fraternity in shock. Fans and fellow artists are expressing their grief across social media platforms. According to a report by One India, Raju was resting in his room after completing a film shoot when the tragic incident occurred.

He was rushed to Manipal Hospital in Udupi, where doctors conducted examinations and confirmed that he had succumbed to cardiac arrest. According to a report by Celebrity Borns, Raju, born in 1979, died at the age of 46. Known for his versatile performances in both theatre and cinema, Raju's sudden demise marks a significant loss to the Kannada entertainment industry.

Speaking to the media, Raju’s co-star, Shine Shetty, said that on October 12, 2025, at midnight, the Kannada actor was facing difficulty in breathing. Shine mentioned that he took Raju to the hospital, and doctors were treating him, but he succumbed to death. He was quoted as saying:

"Last night at 12 o'clock, Raju Talikote had difficulty breathing. I took him to the hospital myself. He was being treated. But he passed away today. He had participated in the shooting of our movie for 2 days. The movie has not been titled yet."

Raju Talikote was a phenomenal Kannada actor and theatre artist who began his career on stage before making his debut in films. He gained widespread recognition with his play Kaliyugada Kuduka. The play was written, directed and performed by Raju himself. In fact, the play became very popular and completed over 15,000 shows. It also achieved record sales for its audio cassettes. Raju appeared in over 35 films, including Punjabi House, Pancharangi, and Paramatma.

He rose to fame with the film, Manasaare. He was best known for his comic and distinctive roles, particularly portraying characters like drunkards. His stellar performances left a lasting impact on audiences. Apart from films and theatre, Raju also appeared on television, including Bigg Boss Kannada Season 7. His dedication towards the arts and memorable performances made him a celebrated artist in both the theatre and cinema communities.

Raju Talikote's personal life

Raju was first married to Prema Talikote, and shared three children with her, sons Bharathraj and Dhaval, and daughter, Heena. He later married Prema Sindhanur, with whom he had two daughters named Shajida and Shabbu. Earlier, in an interview with TV9, Raju talked about his personal life. He mentioned why he married twice and also highlighted his happy family. In his words: 

"I loved both of them and got married. I have children and grandchildren. We are still together. My wives are not just people, they are my strength. I was dedicated to theatre. They were the backbone of all my work."
