Aishwaryaa R Dhanush, daughter of South Indian superstar, Rajinikanth was married to actor, Dhanush before they ended their 18 years of marital life and had announced their separation. For the unversed, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa had tied the knot as per Tamil wedding traditions on November 18, 2004, after dating for six months.
Dhanush and Aishwaryaa have two kids, Yatra Raja, who was born in 2006 and Linga Raja, whom they had welcomed in 2010. On January 17, 2022, Aishwaryaa and Dhanush both had announced their separation news to the world. On February 26, 2021, Aishwaryaa had taken to her IG handle to share a picture of her grandparents and her parents and had penned a beautiful heartfelt note about marriage on her father, Rajinikanth and mother, Latha's 40th wedding anniversary. The caption could be read as:
"She embraced them as family and he took care of hers like his own till the end of their days ... I truly believe that my grandparents are angels guarding the two of you through life with its every possible twist and at each turn. I've learnt ...(so far n still learning ..) Marriage is carrying each other's baggage ( literally too most often in my case)."
She had further added to her note that friendship is the base of companionship and even had mentioned that she has learned everything from her parents. Aishwaryaa had written:
"Compassion stays way beyond passion...Friendship becomes the base of companionship...House is always home ..I don't love just you but I love you'll..the family we made...Gathering pieces of life's jigsaw as we grow old as two individuals together to give it meaning at every stage .. I'm going to pause ..cause..right now I just want to wish my dearest Appa n Amma a super duper anniversary ! Love you both way beyond the moon n back ! #happyanniversary #bestfriends #somuchtolearnfromthem."

In an old interview with The Times Of India, Dhanush had revealed what had attracted him to his wife, Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth. When the actor was asked if the fact that Aishwaryaa was superstar, Rajinikanth’s daughter had made him attracted to her, Dhanush had replied:
"I don’t see her like that. I like her simplicity. If you think her father is simple, meet Aishwarya. She is 100 times simpler than her father. Aishwaryaa treats everybody as an equal and can be friends with anybody. I like the fact that she is bringing up our sons extremely well."
Their beautiful marriage has ended, and both of them had taken to their respective social media handles to share their separation news. Even though, Aishwaryaa's IG handle still shows 'Aishwaryaa R Dhanush', their parting ways note could be read as:
"18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting... Today we stand at a place where our paths separate... Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do Respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this."
