Parenting styles have evolved in our society, as many have moved from physical hitting to more counselling. However, there stands testimony to a time when parents often chose hitting their children to teach them the correct manners. While this was considered a strict move by the parents, it surely meant a lot of scare for the kids.
Veteran actor, Jaya Bachchan has been one such parent to her children, Shweta Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, during their childhood. While both are quite established personalities in their respective fields of work, the doting mother, Jaya, had once revealed to have been stricter with her daughter Shweta. She also admitted to having possibly schooled her by hitting her more than son, Abhishek.

In a throwback interview with Simi Garewal, the entire Bachchan family appeared as guests on the eminent chat show, Rendezvous With Simi Garewal. In the particular episode, while recalling many personal incidents, Shweta Bachchan revealed her mother, Jaya, to be more partial towards her brother Abhishek. She also revealed to have been often hit by her mother, since she was supposed to set examples for her brother. To this accusation, Jaya revealed that Shweta had been a very difficult child back in those days, and she also dared to talk back to her during multiple incidents.
The fun banter turned even more interesting when the host, Simi Garewal, played a clip from a previous interview with Jaya Bachchan, wherein she had accepted to have hit Shweta many times and never to her son, Abhishek. In the end, the two men of the house had a unique response to all of these. While Abhishek Bachchan added that his sister was merely protective about him, on the other hand, Amitabh Bachchan silenced the entire conversation by procrastinating what their granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda, would say about these interviews.
