A few years back, television’s heartthrobs, Karan Patel and Kamya Panjabi were head-over-heels in love with one another. However, their love story came to an abrupt ending and the two parted ways. However, their fans got the biggest shock when Karan announced the news of his marriage within three days of his breakup with Kamya.
Karan Patel got married to veteran actor, Abhay Bhargava’s daughter, Ankita Bhargava in 2015. But his breakup with Kamya Panjabi always stayed in the limelight as it was reported that Karan two timed Kamya and she got to know about it. Karan was also accused of alcoholism and creating a scene in public.

There were many rumours pertaining to Kamya and Karan’s split. It was also reported by Kamya’s friend that Karan got involved with Kamya’s best friend, Pratyusha Banerjee, which irked Kamya. The report also stated that Kamya confronted Karan and like any other boyfriend/husband, Karan denied the same. As per Kamya’s friend:
“It all began at the Box Cricket League last year when Kamya discovered that Karan was two-timing her with Pratyusha Banerjee. A common friend of Kamya and Karan brought this to her notice and Kamya almost dropped dead hearing about it. She looked at Pratyusha and said: WTF! Karan is dating me, darling. Kamya confronted Karan, who warded it off with the usual lies that a man tells his wife/girlfriend when he is accused of cheating. Kamya even had a word with Pratyusha, who eventually left Karan only to jump from the frying pan into the fire (Rahul Raj Singh).”
Kamya’s friend also spoke about the constant fights between Kamya and Karan. As it was reported that it was Karan’s Casanova image which irked Kamya, who kept on giving him a second chance. But when Kamya caught Karan cheating again after many promises, she broke up with him. Revealing how Karan announced his marriage to Ankita Bhargava just three days after his breakup, Kamya’s friend said:
“Fights had become more frequent between the two. When one of their arguments got out of hand one day, Karan sent her a video where he was drinking and saying: Ab tu dekh main kya karta hoon Not even in her wildest dream did Kamya think that Karan would take any drastic step, but the next thing she knew and mind you, in just three days was that, Karan announced in newspapers that he was marrying Ankita Bhargava. When Kamya wanted to know why Ankita, Karan told her: You asked for it!”

Kamya had also found some obscene pictures on Karan Patel’s phone, which was the final nail in the coffin. Even after her breakup, Kamya couldn’t stop loving Karan. The ugly breakup had such an impact on Kamya that she went into depression. Talking about the same once, she told an online portal:
“I myself underwent a depression around the same time because I had a heartbreak. He simply walked out on me when my world revolved around him. Without my knowledge, he was having an affair.”
For the unversed, Kamya Panjabi found love again and got married to Delhi-based medical professional, Shalabh Dang in 2020.
