A prominent actress in the South Indian film industry, Meena is one of the popular names in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. Meena made her acting debut as a child actress in the film, Nenjangal, featuring Sivaji Ganesan in 1982. With films like Mutha Mesthri, Yejaman, Allari Alludu, Periyanna, Katha Parayumpol, Dhrishyam, and Dhrishyam 2, Meena has proved her versatility as an actress.
Meena has been paired with all the leading heroes of the South film industry like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Mammooty, Mohanlal, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Vijay, Ajit etc. Talking about her personal life, Meena had tied the knot with a Bangalore-based businessman, Vidyasagar in 2009. They were blessed with a daughter, whom they named, Nainika. However, in June 2022, Meena’s husband, Vidyasagar passed away.

Meena is one of the most beautiful actresses and is still adored for her charming features and enchanting smile. The actress has been linked with various actors in the past, however, a few years back, there were rumours about the actress’ secret marriage with Kannada actor Sudeep Sanjeev, popularly known as Kiccha Sudeepa. The duo has worked together in movies like Swathi Muthu in 2003 and My Autograph in 2006. As per multiple reports, Meena and Sudeep were head-over-heels in love and got married secretly.
Sudeep rubbished the reports and revealed that there was no truth in the rumours. On the other hand, Meena slammed the rumours and stated that she and Sudeep are good friends and nothing more. Revealing she would never hide her marriage from the media, Meena had retorted:
“Media people are trying their best to get me in the wedlock. This is the third time I found such news about my marriage in the media. But there is not a dearth of truth in this gossip. Sudeep is one of my good friends. We have been associated in just two films. I will never hide my marriage from the press or anybody for that matter. I will invite everyone to my marriage.”

It was on June 27, 2022, when the news of Meena’s husband, Vidyasagar’s untimely death flashed the news headlines. He was suffering from a lung infection and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai. He was also diagnosed with Coronavirus in March 2022, which led to a serious lung infection. Despite the long treatment, he couldn’t survive and passed away at the mere age of 48.
Meena’s daughter, Nainika followed her mother’s footsteps and made her acting debut as a child actress in the blockbuster film, Theri.
