Bollywood's once madly-in-love couple, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's broken love story is known to all. There was a time when Saif and Amrita painted Tinseltown red with their mushy romance. They had made everyone in the '90s believe that when two people are in love, nothing else matters. But with time, their love faded and they parted their ways on an ugly note.
It was in the early 2000s when rumours were rife that the love in Saif and Amrita's love marriage is over. In 2004, they divorced each other. While Amrita kept mum on her personal life, Saif revealed how he was tired of the constant fights, getting yelled at and how his ex-wife had demanded Rs.5 crores as alimony. However, with time the two matured and the talks about their failed marriage faded.

Recently, we stumbled upon an interview of Saif Ali Khan when he appeared on the chat show, Koffee With Karan. During the show, Johar asked Khan about his equation with his kids, Sara and Ibrahim. To this, Saif shared that he cannot imagine what will be the impact of his divorce will be on their kids. He also revealed how his daughter, Sara reacted to him after their separation. He said:
"I can’t imagine exactly the impact this will have on Sara and Ibrahim. I just pray and will make every effort possible. One thing that Sara did say to me. She said ‘you spend more quality time with me now than ever before’. I am not saying that that’s a great ‘everything is fine’ (situation) but that is a ray there, that’s something special."
Saif also talked about his ex-wife, Amrita, and expressed his wish to become friends with her one day. He shared that he has tremendous respect for her. He was quoted as saying:
"I really do owe a lot, and I have a tremendous amount of respect for my ex-wife Amrita and I would really like us to be friends, I hope, one day."
For the unversed, Amrita was twelve years older than Saif. Despite it all, Saif had married Amrita in a secret wedding in October 1991. After which, they had their share of ups and downs and remained with each other for almost ten years until their divorce. They parted ways on a sour note. A lot was written about their relationship.
On the personal front, Saif Ali Khan is happily married to Kareena Kapoor Khan, and together they are raising their two kids, Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh Ali Khan.
