Born to late Taj Mohammed Khan and his wife, Lateef Fatima Khan, Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most exceptional actors Bollywood has ever had. Despite coming from a middle-class family, SRK dreamt of making it big in the film industry and turned his dream into reality. His journey from being a commoner to becoming the biggest star in Bollywood is an inspiration to millions, and it's the reason behind his humbleness.
Once in a throwback interview with Parent Circle in 2018, Shah Rukh Khan talked about his childhood days and revealed how his mother fed him with her own hands till the age of 25. Reflecting on the same, the actor mentioned that he still looks ridiculous while eating with his hands. He said:
“When I was a kid, I always wanted to grow up, and now that I am old, I really miss my childhood. I think it’s the best time of our lives when we are so carefree. I remember my mom used to feed me with her own hands for the longest time — until I was about 25. So, I am still ill at ease eating with my own hands. I look ridiculous!”
Shah Rukh's father was originally from Peshawar, and he had moved to India before his son was born. Talking about his father and his love for food, the actor mentioned that he was fed Mughlai and Deccani food in his childhood. He recalled how his parents would mix traditional food and feed him and added:
“I have grown up on Mughlai and Deccani food. See, my father was a Pathan, and their love for food is legendary. My father loved not just eating, but also cooking. So my Pathan father's raan would make a perfect combo with my Hyderabadi mother's mutton biryani and the khatti dal. My parents used to mix these and feed me."
Shah Rukh Khan is a talented chef, who, time and again, shows off his culinary skills on his social media handle. Further in the interview, the actor had added how he loves to bake pasta and cookies for his kids, Aryan, Suhana and AbRam, and mentioned that he can make tea and phulkas as well. In his words:
"I don’t do that with my kids, they would disown me! But yes, I have baked for them or rustled up a pasta. I have baked Batman cookies with Aaryan when he was a little boy. I can boil eggs, make tea. And I make very good phulkas. I can make rather decent pasta also.”
Once in a throwback interview with The Times Of India, Shah Rukh Khan spoke about why he chose Delhi to build his late parents’ graveyards and shared the fond memories he has with Delhi. He revealed that whenever he sits on a plane to come to Delhi, he always feels that his mother and father are there. Talking about the same, he added that he goes and visits them at the graveyard late in the night. He further added that though he has become a Mumbaikar, Delhi can never go out of him because his parents are there and that is the biggest memory for him.
For the unversed, apart from being a doting son and a loving father, Shah Rukh Khan is married to his ladylove, Gauri Khan, and never fails to exude husband goals!
