Netflix has now brought the unknown stories and the experiences of all those who were involved with the show over the years in a documentary, Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model. Netflix has already requested people to watch the new documentary so that they can find more details on what happened on the show, specifically behind the camera.

The new documentary premiered on Netflix on February 16, 2025. The show has already grabbed attention with the cast members revealing a lot of things that left the viewers surprised. But in between all these, people have been eager to know where the judges are right now and what they are doing after the show. Keep reading to know more about the same.

Jay Manuel has collaborated with some filmmakers for a few projects

Jay Manuel was also a creative director of America’s Next Top Model from 2003 to 2012. Jay has currently started working on a screen adaptation of his novel titled The Wig, The B*tch, and the Meltdown. For the unversed, the book is inspired by the events that happened behind the cameras on America’s Next Top Model. Moreover, Jay is also focused on storytelling and has begun collaborating with filmmakers for certain projects, where the filmmakers would get an opportunity to speak up.

Jay Manuel said on the Netflix documentary that a lot of things have changed ever since he left the show. He recalled that when he joined the show, he preferred to impress the audience, producers, and everyone else. Jay further stated that he was working in different directions in that period, and was not so “anchored” in his voice.

Nigel Barker has started a YouTube series alongside hosting a TV show

Apart from America’s Next Top Model, Nigel Barker has been a judge on pageants like Miss America and Miss Universe. He was a part of ANTM for 18 seasons. Following the end of the show, Nigel Barker started a YouTube competition series called Top Photographer. Back in 2024, he also launched a premium beverage brand, The Barker Company. Apart from these, Nigel has also hosted a show, The Face, which airs on NBC.

While speaking on the Netflix documentary, Nigel Barker opened up in detail about judging the models with care and giving feedback by following the format. Nigel said that he always preferred constructive criticism, which can be changed into something else due to the edits made before an episode aired on television. Nigel stated that this can lead to a situation where his comments could be considered as negative feedback while being watched by others on the small screen.

Miss J launched an Instagram live series and has been battling a health issue

Miss J joined as a judge on America’s Next Top Model from Cycle 5. However, his contract ended with the other two judges, Nigel Barker and Jay Manuel, in 2012. Miss J and Jay later collaborated in 2020, starting an Instagram Live series, which was scheduled every week. The live series was also broadcast on Facebook and YouTube. The series focused on Miss J and Jay’s journey on the popular show over the years.

Miss J has also been a part of the international versions of ANTM. On the other hand, he started dealing with some health problems in 2022 after he had a stroke. Miss J began having walking and talking issues after being in come for a few weeks. According to PEOPLE, Miss J is learning to get back his walking abilities. Miss J recalled the experience in the Netflix documentary by saying that he became emotional after realizing that he cannot walk and talk.
