Drew Roy's role in Hannah Montana 

Hannah Montana aired on Disney Channel from 2006 to 2011. The show originally introduced Cody Linley as 'Jake Ryan', a famous actor who becomes interested in 'Miley Stewart', played by Miley Cyrus, when she's the only one at school who isn't interested in him. While she eventually gives him a chance and even discloses her secret life as a pop sensation, 'Hannah Montana', to him, things get extremely complicated soon after. Their brewing love story meets its first hurdle when her drummer, 'Jesse', played by Drew Roy, enters the picture.

However, after a very complicated decision that included 'Miley' printing out photos of both boys, she chose 'Jake'. However, that proved to be the wrong choice when, later in the series, 'Miley' found out that 'Jake' had cheated on her. The actor's action paved the way for Jesse to return to her life. And by the end of the series, 'Miley' and 'Jesse' are officially a couple. Given how they ended up in the finale, fans had expected Drew to join Miley to celebrate the 20-year milestone, but the actor remained absent from the show.

Who is Drew Roy?

Andrew 'Drew' Roy was born on May 16, 1986. He was born and raised in Clanton, Alabama. He moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. He is best known for his role in Falling Skies before joining Hannah Montana as 'Jesse'. Drew began his acting career with roles in movies such as Curse of Pirate Death and Blink. In 2009, he played 'Griffin' in the TV show, iCarly.

Drew Roy was missing from both the special and the red carpet premiere of Hannah Montana's 20th Anniversary. While the actor has been away from the limelight for a while now, he initially continued his career with acting roles in Falling Skies, Timeless and The Last Ship. Drew also appeared in several films, including Sugar Mountain and The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson, before stepping away from Hollywood. 

Drew Roy's final role was him reprising his character, 'Griffin', in the iCarly revival, which aired in 2021. Since leaving the acting world behind, Drew has transitioned from entertainment to becoming a qualified jet pilot. His social media, where he has made rare posts from time to time, notes that Drew loves flying jets and his "wife and kids." His wife, Renee, has also often cheered for him throughout his journey. She even penned a loving note for him when he became a Delta pilot in 2025. Her post could be read as:

While not much is known about Drew Roy's personal life before Hannah Montana, the former actor has now built a solid life for himself. While he found his professional passion as a pilot, he has also found a happy home with Renee Roy in his personal life. The couple got married in 2015 and has since welcomed two beautiful sons. Marking a decade of their togetherness, Renee penned a loving message for her, which read as:
