Jemimah Rodrigues had an emotional night in Navi Mumbai as she has become one of the top faces in the Indian women's cricket team. Shed guided India over a historic five wicket win over Australia in the ICC Women's World Cup semifinal. Jemimah is known for her powerful batting as she made 127 runs off 134 balls, tremendous energy and humility has captivated her fans. However, do you know that behind her powerful success in cricket is the support of her family, who have put full faith in Jemimah and her dedication towards cricket.

For the unversed, Jemimah was born in an extremely close knitted Mangalorean Catholic family. Her dad has been her cricket coach, mentor and someone who has always guided her in life. According to multiple reports, Jemimah's mom, Lavita Rodrigues is a homemaker and has been her biggest support system. Jemimah also has two brothers- Enoch and Eli Rodrigues.
 
      
Jemimah's dad, Ivan, has been a coach, reportedly first at St. Columba Girls' High School and also at St. Joseph Convent High School. Jemimah has been trained by her father ever since she was 4 years old. In an interview with Salaam Bombay Foundation, Ivan spoke about the importance of giving girls the opportunity to play cricket. He had shared:
"Girls should be given the opportunity to play. Unless and until you dream about your child and daughter to play for India, she cannot play for India. I feel parents have to take the initiative, give equal rights to the daughter as they give the son. This will promote daughters of our country to reach great heights and win medals for our country."

For Jemimah, Ivan is not just a father figure but also more than that. He has been her first guru and someone who has given her lifelong motivation. Ivan was born in Mumbai and was pretty passionate about sports that also cricket. He had not reached the zenith professionally, but had an excellent understanding of the game. Jemimah's cricket education began because of this, as Ivan had years of coaching experience. Ivan had earlier worked as a junior cricket coach and also a physical education teacher at St. Joseph's Convent High School. It was the same school where Jemimah went. Ivan had created a girls cricket team at Jemimah's school and had ensured his daughter and the other young girls who were passionate about cricket could follow the same.

Jemimah's dad, Ivan ensured that she took part in cricket competitions. He never put any form of pressure on her related and did not expect anything out of her. Ivan ensured that Jemimah had a natural love for cricket. He always believed in the philosophy of being disciplined and also practising gratitude. He knew that his daughter, Jemimah, had a god gifted talent and that her efforts, as well as her humble nature, would decide her future. Jemimah ensured to study well, do her cricket training andf was fully grounded despite starting off on the cricket field soon. Even after Jemimah did her India debut in cricket, her dad, Ivan became her advisor, reviewed her matches and also showed her area that she needed improvement. Jemimah was motivated to learn and create changes in the various formats of cricket.
 
      
Jemimah's heart is her mom, Lavita who likes to keep a private life but has had a huge impact in the life of Jemimah. She has ensured to take care of Jemimah so that her dreams do not look like a burden on her. Earlier, in an interview with the ETimes, Jemimah shared of how she used to call her mom, when having anxiety attacks and has often credited how her parents have always there for her. For Lavita, Jemimah's dreams were never like a burden. For Jemimah her mom has always been her emotional backbone as she ensured that the dreams of her daughter were never held back.
 
      
Intitally when Jemimah started off there were travel costs, expenses and Lavita ensured of giving full moral support to her daughter, manage school related schedules. Jemimah's mom, Lavita has always been a calm, patient and a spiritual lady, she always told her daughter to be positicve and also trust the process of cricket. Jemimah Rodrigues finds her happy space because of her mom, Lavita's resilience. Jemimah in any media events has shared that her mom's faith and strength shaped her views. The family follows Christianity, go to the church regularly as Lavita believes in being kind, grateful at all the times.

For the unversed, Jemimah also has brothers- Enoch and Eli. One is a photographer while the other one is a drummer. According to an interview with Sportstar Hindu, Jemimah and her brothers used to get the entire roof down with their antics. They used to break glasses so wrestling and the cartoon, Tom and Jerry was not allowed to be seen at home. Lavita was a strict parent as Jemimah once said:
"It’s very annoying. Growing up, we’d had so many fights. We’ve broken so many glasses at home. Mom and dad would get so angry. They would never let us watch Tom and Jerry and wrestling and all at home because we’d do the same thing at home."
