Who Is BB19's Abhishek Bajaj? Ananya Panday's Co-Star, Dating Rumours With Ex Bigg Boss Contestant

Abhishek Bajaj is an Indian actor who works in television and films. The 32-year-old started his career as a model in 2011 and later transitioned into acting. His notable works include Student of the Year 2, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui and Babli Bouncer. He was also recently revealed to be a contestant in the popular reality show, Bigg Boss 19. With his upcoming appearance in the Salman Khan-hosted show, Abhishek's past romance with a Bigg Boss alum has resurfaced.

Young and handsome Abhishek Bajaj is all set to create a stir in the Bigg Boss 19 house. He is a part of the star-studded contestant line-up of the latest season of the reality program. The announcement of his participation was made through Colours channel's official Instagram on August 24, 2025, alongwith the caption, "Sherdil andaz se karna sabke dil par raaj, ghar ki kursi tak Abhishek kaise karega apna raasta saaf?" The show's official streaming partner, Jio Hotstar, described Abhishek as "Charm aur confidence ka perfect combo."

Abhishek Bajaj's acting journey: From television to movies

Abhishek made his acting debut with the Sony channel TV series, Parvarrish—Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi (2011–2013). He then worked in several other serials like Silsila Pyaar Ka, Ek Nanad Ki Khushiyon Ki Chaabi...Meri Bhabhi, Dil De Ke Dekho, Santoshi Maa, Silsila Pyaar Ka and Bitti Business Wali. Soon, he became a familiar face on Indian television and amassed a dedicated fan following. His acting prowess earned him film offers from industry bigshots like Karan Johar, and he finally made it to the world of cinema.

Abhishek Bajaj's Bollywood debut with 'Student of the Year 2'

Karan Johar-produced Student of the Year 2 marked Abhishek's movie debut. In the 2019 film, he played the character of 'Abhishek Sharma' alongside Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria. Although it was a supporting role of the male lead's friend, he was able to grab the audience's attention in the limited screentime he received. His other films include the Tamannaah Bhatia-starrer comedy drama, Babli Bouncer (2022), and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui (2021), featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor. 

Abhishek Bajaj's return to television

After taking a break from television to feature in the movies, Abhishek returned to the small screen with Jubilee Talkies. It was his last project, starring opposite Khushi Dubey. The series, however, went off-air in September 2024 because of low TRP ratings, as per a Times Now report. The channel responsible for the show decided to end its run within three months of its airing, due to its inability to attract sufficient viewership.

Abhishek and Bigg Boss season 15 contestant, Donal Bisht, were embroiled in dating rumours back in 2021-22. Donal and Abhishek Bajaj have known each other for several years and appeared together in a 2021 music video titled Kinni Vaari. As their on-screen chemistry gained audience attention, curiosity regarding their real-life bond also grew. Following her stint on Bigg Boss, Donal directly addressed the rumours in March 2022. She clarified that she and Abhishek had been friends for six years and were both focused on their careers.

Abhishek denied reports of being in a live-in relationship with Donal. Donal, too, refuted the rumours and stated that she was single and focusing on her career. Back then, she mentioned her world being her only love and that she had no plans of getting romantically involved with anybody. What made the issue even more complicated was that by then, Abhisek was a married man. That necessitated a clarification, which she provided, saying:

"We’ve been friends for six years. When I entered Mumbai, he was new here. We know each other since then. We are focused on our work; that’s our priority. We’ve come here to work. I’m workaholic and I’m in love with my work. I’m single and not ready to marry. There’s time for that.”

Abhishek Bajaj married his long-term girlfriend, Akanksha Jindal

Abhishek and Akanksha met at a party in 2010 and dated for seven years before getting engaged on October 28, 2017. The actor proposed to her in a romantic gesture on a yacht near Mumbai's iconic Gateway of India. After a month, the couple tied the knot amid friends and family. The couple looked stunning in traditional attire, with Akanksha wearing a golden and peach lehenga for the engagement and a red velvet lehenga for the wedding.

Abhishek opted for a golden sherwani for the wedding and looked suave in a coat-over-kurta look during the engagement. Pictures from their wedding and pre-wedding festivities flooded the internet, and congratulatory wishes poured from his industry acquaintances and fans.
