Jensen Karp is an American producer, writer, actor, podcaster, gallerist, and former rapper. Before he started writing for TV, Jensen was a rapper, performing under the name Hot Karl. He began his career as a teen rapper and also won a radio freestyle competition, which led to a deal with Interscope Music. Although the album was never released, he ultimately secured a publishing deal to write music for other artists.

Not many people know this, but Jensen Karp was the writer for WWE Raw for seven months. His stint with TV goes back to the time when he appeared on Season 1 of Barely Famous, playing Erin Foster’s boyfriend. Karp also wrote the sketch for The Late Late Show with James Corden and contributed to Sacha Baron Cohen's political satire, Who's America?

Apart from his career in music and TV, Karp is also a published author and has written a humorous memoir, titled Kanye West Owes Me $300: And Other True Stories from a White Rapper Who Almost Made It Big. Jensen is also the owner of Gallery 1988, an art gallery based in Los Angeles.

Jensen once revealed the reason behind opening the art gallery, saying that he was misjudged, as people assumed he couldn’t afford any of the art on display. Speaking to VoyageLA, Jensen said:

“It got Katie and I thinking: what if we created a space of art, without judgment, treating each buyer the same? And since we knew we'd be catering to a younger audience, mostly purchasing art for the first time, we decided to encourage our artists to produce pieces based on their pop culture influences."

Danielle Fishel and Jensen Karp first crossed paths when they attended Calabasas High School in 1995. However, it was on his podcast, Get Up On This, that Jensen announced that he was dating Fishel. Soon, Jensen proposed to Danielle and penned a heart-melting note for her on his Instagram handle. His note can be read as:

“We got engaged today. I don't have anything witty or funny to say to accompany this picture. She is just the greatest person in the world and to imagine someone I went to high school with was always my person, is remarkable. You never know.”

The duo got married in 2018, surrounded by family and friends. Popular American singer, Sabrina Carpenter, accompanied the bride while John Mayer graced the event as Jensen’s groomsmen. In 2019, Danielle and Jensen welcomed their first son, Adler Lawrence. In 2021, the couple welcomed their second son, Keaton Joseph.

It was during a routine mammogram in July 2024 that Danielle learnt that she had ductal carcinoma in situ, a noninvasive, stage-zero cancer that is trapped inside the milk ducts. She underwent two surgeries and 20 rounds of radiation in the weeks following her diagnosis. It was Jensen who was her biggest support system during that time. She told People that Jensen had accompanied her to all her doctor's appointments. In her words:

"He's been there when I've had my emotional meltdowns and needed to cry. And he'll say, 'What are the tears about? Do you want to talk about them? What is this? Do you just want to vent or is this about a specific thing we can talk through?' He's been really great."
