Who Is Humane Sagar's Wife, Shriya Mishra? Accused Singer Of Domestic Violence, Forcing Conversion

Humane Sagar, the famous Odia singer who rose to fame on Voice of Odisha Season 2, passed away on November 17, 2025. His personal life was as turbulent as his voice. Humane was married to Shriya Mishra, a singer and a former fellow contestant on the same reality show. Their marriage had hopes, but Shriya had made strong accusations against Humane with charges of domestic violence, forced conversion, and he had a public heartbreak.

According to a report by Odisha TV, Shriya Mishra's father alleged that Humane started torturing her as soon as she became pregnant. He did try to sort the issue, but it was in vain. Shriya's dad alleged that Humane had tried to kill his daughter, who accused him of not helping her financially. Shriya levelled charges of being beaten when she stopped him from drinking and accused him of having an extramarital affair.

It was in 2017 when Humane Sagar married Shriya Mishra, and they were blessed with a daughter. The ex pair had washed their dirty linen in public, and his emotional struggles were reflected in his songs. Shriya claimed in an interview with the publication that she was quiet about being tortured as she did not want to tarnish the image of her husband. She shared that him being a celebrity, not maligning his name, bearing the torture for years and shared:

"He is a busy singer. He usually performs in concerts and other cultural events. Keeping this in mind, I always tried to stop Humane from consuming alcohol. And this annoyed him and he used to beat me. He failed to perform on stage many a times because he was heavily drunk. Besides, he had to cancel his recordings at the last moment because he used to be not in a situation to go to studio and record songs.”

Humane had called the allegations baseless, and his mom shared that her late son did not drink alcohol. Shriya had accused his family, especially his dad, mom and brother, of making him drink the same. Once upon a time, both of them shared a bond through music, but they emerged as talented singers who couldn't see eye to eye. Shriya had filed a case against Humane in Cuttack, and both of them were also called for counselling.

Shriya Mishra earlier had told the publication that apart from receiving mental and physical torture, Humane used to provoke her to embrace his religion. She shared that the torture was non-stop after the birth of their girl, and when it became unbearable, she had to make the decision to call the cops. Shriya and her lawyer shared the same views:

"My parents and relatives even tried their best to convince Humane. But nothing worked. Humane wanted to convert Shriya to Christianity and Shriya was against it. Besides, she was subjected to torture for dowry. Even after giving Rs 10 lakh cash and a luxury car, Humane never stopped torturing my client. He kept on asking for more dowry. Despite having love marriage, Humane tried to kill Shriya by slitting her throat.”

Humane's mom had defended the claims by sharing that since Humane's marriage, she had never asked Shriya to change her religion and called the allegations false. Humane was hurt by the insult and wanted to amicably settle the matter, having shared that the accusations were false. Shriya had accused Humane and her family of throwing her out of the home.

Shriya Mishra had accused Humane Sagar of being in an extramarital relationship. She did not reveal many details about the same, but Humane had shared that she had many friends and colleagues, and that a husband and wife needed to have some form of trust. Shriya had alleged that she had to leave home due to the third person and shared:

"There is a third person between us for which I was made to leave that house. When my parents went to his place for negotiations, they were ill-treated. I could not have made such a serious allegation against him had I not been sure about it. I am ready for a compromise. But it should come from heart. Instead of talking about compromise in media, he should make a genuine effort. I am a victim. I am not feeling safe when I think of going there. But all I need is a little time. If he wants me to return, then he should give the same love and respect.”

Humane had claimed that no one came above his family and that the allegations brought against his family were wrong. He did confess to not having time to have any kind of affair. Shriya claimed that Humane had no attachment to his daughter and had not taken any responsibility. Apart from Shriya referring to some third person making their marriage bitter, she had accused her former mother-in-law of not allowing her to put sindoor.
