Cinelovers cannot wait any longer for the much-awaited sequel of JP Dutta's 1997 cult classic, Border. Even before the teaser was dropped, the excitement was heightened. The movie will feature Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan and Sunny Deol in the leading roles, among others. It was announced on July 28, 2025, that Medha Rana would play the leading actress's role. As she is the only female lead introduced in Border 2, cinelovers are excited to learn about her. So without further ado, let's dive deep into Medha Rana's life.
Medha Rana was born in December 1999, in Bangalore. The actress was brought up in Gurugram. Medha comes from a military background, as her father has been in the field. Medha completed her 10th to 12th grades at DPS (Delhi Public School). Following the same, she took admission to Christ University, where she completed her graduation with a BBA degree in finance and marketing.
Medha Rana used to play basketball and was into swimming while growing up, while currently she is into boxing and yoga. Medha started her career as a model at the age of 16. Yes! When she was 13 years old, she was scouted by Bengaluru-based fashion stylist and choreographer, Prasad Bidapa. She, back then, went to a shopping mall, where she met the stylist during a fashion show, who suggested that Medha should try her hand at modelling.
Initially, Medha and her parents didn't take it seriously, but a few years later, when she moved to Bangalore, she decided to give it a try. Later, Medha started grabbing opportunities and never looked back. Instead, she took this profession seriously and relocated to Mumbai for more serious work in the entertainment industry. Talking about how she shifted to Mumbai, Medha, in an interview with Indulgexpress, revealed:
"But fate had its way and my dad got posted to Bengaluru right after Chandigarh. He's in the army. We then moved to the city and I thought to myself: why don’t I explore this side of the world also? So, when I was 16, I started working with Prasad and there was no turning back after that. One thing led to another."
Medha Rana has been featured in commercials for several famous brands, including Ponds, Lenskart, TRESemmé, Cadbury, Livon, and Nescafé, among others. She was seen in Armaan Malik's music video, Barsaat. Medha is famous for her role in Netflix's Friday Night Plan, featuring Babil Khan. Apart from that, she was also seen in Voot India's London Files, which featured Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli. In London Files, she played the role of 'Maya Roy' and grabbed attention for her strong acting skills. London Files is surely a breakthrough in her career, and talking about how she bagged the role, Medha once told Indulgexpress:

"I moved to Mumbai to take this career seriously as I was now sure I wanted to be an actor and then I bagged London Files. It happened through an audition, through a very random audition, where the team happened to like me and then they called me a few more times and we did a bunch of more rounds of auditions and workshops before it was finally confirmed."
Medha Rana is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Varun Dhawan's Border 2, and since the project is highly anticipated, people cannot wait to see Medha's skills. Talking about why Medha was selected for Border 2, producer Bhushan Kumar said that they needed someone who could tap into and embody the dialect, spirit, and bring the essence of the region, and Medha could successfully do the same. The entire team remained in awe of Medha's skills and effortless command over the regional dialect. The producer could be quoted as saying:
"It was imperative for us to find someone who could naturally embody the dialect, spirit, and rooted essence of the region. Medha impressed the team not just with her raw talent, but with her effortless command over the regional dialect and her emotional range as an actor. We truly believe she will bring depth and realism to the role."
