Who is Hunter Biden's second wife, Melissa Cohen?

Melissa was born and raised in South Africa before becoming a naturalised US citizen. She is fluent in five languages, including Hebrew and Italian, and is more than just the spouse of a famous man. Melissa is an activist and an aspiring documentary filmmaker. She once tried to raise USD 30,000 for a project titled Tribal Worlds to explore African tribal communities through the perspective of humanity's past, present, and future.

How did Melissa Cohen meet Hunter Biden?

Melissa Cohen's life took an extraordinary turn in May 2019. Just six days after meeting Hunter for the first time at the Sunset Marquis hotel in Los Angeles, they got married in an intimate rooftop ceremony. Hunter, in his memoir, called it "love at first sight". He revealed that after meeting Melissa, he professed his love for her. At the same time, transparency between the pair made their bond stronger.

For instance, Hunter early on confessed his long battle with addiction on that first meeting, and Melissa responded simply, 'Well, not anymore. You're finished with that.' Hunter gives her the credit for transforming his life almost immediately. He recalled that she would follow him to the washroom to ensure that he wasn't taking any drugs and called her his 'redemption' and 'protector.'

Most recently, she was by Hunter's side every day during his federal gun trial in 2024. The duo were spotted holding hands as they walked into court and showed visible emotion in the front row. Following his conviction, former President Biden ultimately granted his son a full pardon, calling the case a "miscarriage of justice."
