New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel has found himself in the middle of an unexpected scandal with NFL insider Dianna Russini after photos of them at a luxury Arizona resort made headlines. On April 7, 2026, Page Six released exclusive photos of Dianna, 43, and Mike Vrabel, 50, and their closeness in the photos raised eyebrows throughout the community, given that both are married: Diana to her husband, Kevin Goldschmidt, and Mike to his wife, Jen Vrabel.
As fans begin to question the coach's recent activities, the attention has largely shifted to Mike's personal life and how Jen and the kids might be reacting to the scandal. As the story develops, have a look at the Patriots coach's decades-long marriage.

Mike Vrabel's history with Jen traces back to their college days. The two reportedly met while studying at Ohio State University, and it was Jen who had first noticed Mike during a time management lecture class, when he was constantly interacting with his peers. She later recalled finding him funny and decided to make the first move. She collected his number from one of their professors and made that call, one that would tie their destiny forever. In an interview with The Tennessean in 2018, Jen said:
"I found him funny enough to ask the professor for his phone number, [and we] quickly became inseparable."

What started as a college romance soon turned into a lifelong partnership that has now spanned nearly three decades. While they haven't divulged many details about their relationship, we do know that the couple tied the knot in 1999. Now married for more than 25 years, Mike and Jen have built a loving family as parents of two children.

Jen has been a strong presence in Mike Vrabel's NFL journey, being by his side since the time he was a student athlete at Ohio State University. While Mike made his mark in football, Jen was a standout volleyball player, competing for the Ohio State team from 1993 to 1996. During her time there, she earned multiple accolades, including two AVCA All-District selections, two All-Big Ten honors, and Academic All-Big Ten recognition.

In 1998, Jen graduated with a degree in dental hygiene before returning to college years later to pursue a degree in exercise science. Over the years, Mike has often spoken about how deeply Ohio State shaped both their lives, influencing their personal growth as well as their professional paths. The couple tied the knot in 1999, just as Mike’s NFL career was taking off. Over the years, Jen has remained a constant source of support as he transitioned from player to coach, eventually becoming the head coach of the New England Patriots.

Mike has often spoken about how much her understanding and strength have helped him navigate the pressures of professional football. During a press conference that introduced him as the Tennessee Titans’ head coach in 2018, Mike spoke about Jen’s contribution to his career and said:
“I love her to death. She's been through a lot, and she understands this league. I want to thank Jen, who's been along for this ride for quite a while.”
Mike and Jen are parents to two sons, and both of them have found their places in the athletic field like their parents. The couple's first son, Tyler Vrabel, was born in June 2000 and made his public debut in the arms of his dad in the 2004 Super Bowl, a memory that has been etched in the minds of long-time Patriots fans. Their second son, Carter Vrabel, was born in November 2001, and the NFL star admitted years later that he still regrets missing out on the special moment due to his practice. Speaking at a 2018 press conference, Mike said:
"I'm not proud to say this, but I'm just going to tell you about my wife. She gave birth to Carter, I missed it, I was at practice, she was in Ohio. He came early, he flipped, they had to take her. I showed up four hours late because I was playing football and she was having a baby."

Mike and Jen's sons have pretty much "been around the NFL locker room since they've been born," as the Patriots head coach once said. Naturally, both boys are heavily involved in sports. The elder son, Tyler, 25, has already pursued an NFL career, playing college football at Boston College.

A former offensive tackle, Tyler briefly played with the Atlanta Falcons during the 2022-2023 season. He currently serves as an assistant coach for Boston College's football team. Meanwhile, Carter, 24, has reportedly developed a passion for baseball during his teenage years, though there's limited information about him.
Jen Vrabel has largely stayed out of the limelight, focusing on family life while supporting Mike’s career behind the scenes. Despite the recent headlines, she remains a central figure in his personal and professional journey.
