Who Is Pei Chung, Alleged Fake Food Influencer, Has Not Done Plastic Surgery, Bro Fighter Jet Pilot

Pei Chung is a Brooklyn resident, aged 34, who has been taking the limelight because of her luxury dining scandal. Reportedly, Pei Chung has been posing as a food influencer in New York's top restaurants and has left without paying a penny. As per a report by the New York Post, Pei is of Taiwanese descent and has around 14,000 followers on Instagram. According to her profile on LinkedIn, she was a consultant who also worked for JPMorgan Chase & Co., and had experience in finance, e-commerce and tech.

Pei Chung reportedly is a self-claimed food influencer and has been accused of defrauding New York's top restaurants. On her social media, Pei Chung has repeatedly boasted about high-end brands along with gourmet meals. She had reportedly used her online personality as a medium to avoid payment and used it as a clout.

Who actually is Pei Chung?

Pei Chung has been known for visiting Michelin-starred restaurants, eat, drink and then not settle the amount. She was known for giving positive social media coverage, and her bill was wiped clean. For the unversed, Pei Chung apart from working for JP Morgan & Co also has a Masters Degree in Information Experience Design that also from New York's Pratt Institute. 

Pei Chung used to play piano from the age of 3?

Pei Chung, with the help of showcasing Instagram followers and sharing content related to Prada shoes, Hermes scarves and Louis Vuitton bags, used to target many big venues such as Peter Luger Steak House, Francie and Meadowsweet located in Williamsburg. Now, according to a report by Primetimer, Pei Chung had an extremely high level of talent as a child. Pei was just 3 years old when she could actually play the violin and had also performed royal ballet after learning the same.

Pei Chung did not pay USD 188 bill acted to was been hired by the restaurant

It was on October 22, 2025, when Pei Chung made a bill of USD 188. Her dishes included Foie Gras at USD 15, Carpaccio at USD 32, and USD 52 worth of lamb, as well as USD 28 worth of Bucatini. The bizarre incident occurred at Francie when co-owner John Winterman shared with the New York Post that Pei was acting as if she were hired by the restaurant for promotions. She refused to pay, and her visit did not match the image she created. John revealed that for any collaboration, there had to be an agreement before, which they did not do, and shared:

"She wanted to trade pictures and a blog post for the meal… I said we would have to agree on that beforehand, which we didn’t, so the bill needed to be paid.”

Pei Chungs's last post on Instagram was from a Michelin-starred restaurant

A look at Pei Chung's last Instagram post before her arrest was from 1 Michelin star rated restaurant called, Frankie. In her post, she shared eating Foie Gras Canele Snack, Carpaccio, Bucatini Pasta, Colorado Lamb, Hot Chocolate Mousse Dessert and Lemon Verbena Tea, to name a few. She revealed that the One-Star Michelin was located in Williamsburg and spoke about the technical aspects of photography. A part of her note read:

"The shoot was conducted using Sony professional full-frame camera paired with Zeiss Pro 50mm f/1.4 lens, delivering exceptional sharpness, tonal depth, and natural color rendition. No external lighting was employed, as I wished to honor and preserve the restaurant’s original lighting design and ambience, which are integral to its visual and experiential character."

Pei Chung, who showcased a glammed-up dining experience, could not pay at the restaurant she posed snaps about. Reportedly, her credit cards got declined, according to Winterman. She left without paying the bill and told the restaurant that she was waiting for money from her family. She could not pay the bills but still spoke of them in her post. It read:

"The pricing adheres to New York City’s professional standards for culinary photography, encompassing projects exceeding over hundred images, senior-level photographer, and designer hourly rates. My approach extends beyond documentation to include aesthetic direction and on-site visual refinement, ensuring that each composition aligns with the restaurant’s culinary philosophy and visual identity."

Pei Chung has been posting from top restaurants despite being in legal trouble

Despite facing legal issues, Pei Chung, a while back, was seen posting from a top restaurant. In her story, she spoke about being at Sea Thai Restaurant in Brooklyn and how police officers threw out her takeout dinner. It seems like Pei Chung cannot take out any food items as the cops are observing her. She took to her stories to slam the cops and wrote:

"Police officers threw out my takeout dine cuisine again. If cops arrived on site and are truly hungry. I don't mind if they continue enjoying my takeout cuisine. There will still have empty spaces here. Go rich business or just fire them."

Pei Chung has her own blog and has done no plastic surgery, according to her Instagram

The self-proclaimed influencer, Pei Chung, has a blog, Mind Over Matter, that covers Lifestyle, Travel, Gourmet, and Beauty content. She has also written on her Instagram bio that she has not done any plastic surgery and that her brother is a fighter jet pilot.
