Rasika Dugal, who gained popularity as ‘Beena Tripathi’, in Amazon Prime Video original series Mirzapur, began her acting journey with a small role in the 2007 film, Anwar. She then went on to star in films such as No Smoking, Aurangzeb, Qissa, Manto, and a few others. Though Rasika acted in some acclaimed films, her true calling came with OTT.

Her performance opposite Pankaj Tripathi in Mirzapur brought her significant recognition, for which she was nominated for the Indian Television Academy Awards for Best Actress. Her stint on OTT was followed by series such as Made in Heaven, Delhi Crime, A Suitable Boy, and many others.

Rasika Dugal’s husband, Mukul Chadda, was once a banker

Born in Chennai, Mukul did his bachelor’s in Mathematics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. He then went on to pursue an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and started working in a bank in New York. He also took acting classes from the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. It was Mukul’s passion for acting that brought him back to India, and he decided to pursue it.

Rasika Dugal and Mukul Chadda’s love story

Rasika Dugal and Mukul Chadda met at a theatre workshop and started a conversation. Soon they started talking during the break and realised that they had a lot of friends in common. They exchanged phone numbers and started dating. After dating for three years, the duo tied the knot in 2010 and have been leading a happy life. The duo has been married for 15 years, has no children, but has expressed a desire to have kids.

Mukul Chadda has often said in his interviews that he feels fortunate to have married Rasika. Rasika had once revealed that she was naïve and young when she met Mukul, but never regretted her decision to marry him. The couple also share their highs and lows, and they usually fight over food.

Rasika Dugal and Mukul Chadda worked together in the film, Fairy Folk, a story of a jaded couple, 'Ritika' and 'Mohit', who don't realise that their marriage has become boring and dull. In an interview with Zoom, Rasika shared her experience of working with husband Mukul on a full-length feature film for the first time and shared:

“Because we worked together, it was very simple and Mukul is a much better improviser than I am. Whenever I felt I wouldn't know where to take next, he used to be there."
