However, he took a detour and travelled towards Virginia Beach, where his girlfriend's family later found her vehicle, lying abandoned. The following day, Beal's girlfriend received a call from him; he told her that he was in Virginia Beach and planned to head back home. No one has seen or heard from him since.

"His girlfriend last had contact with him via phone on 07/13/2025 when he told her he was in Virginia Beach, VA, and was going to head back home. Samuel did not return home the next day. Samuel has not been heard from or seen since the phone call on 07/13/2025."

In the following days, when no contact could be established, his family filed a missing persons report. His girlfriend is the last known person to see him and the last to receive a message. Local authorities began investigating the matter and focused on Beal's possible movements after leaving Virginia Beach. The report mentions:

"Samuel did not bring anything with him aside from the clothes he was wearing, a pair of slides, and his wallet that contained his banking card and driver’s license. The girlfriend's vehicle was recovered in Virginia Beach, VA, by one of her family members. The vehicle was found with Samuel's shoes and socks on the floor of the front passenger seat along with some sand on the floor."

Sam Beal's sister makes a public plea to help find him

On Monday, January 12, 2026, Beal's elder sister, Essence Zhane, made a public post on Facebook, including details of the missing persons report, a photo of his driver's license ID, along with contact details of the Kentwood Police Department, Virginia Beach Police Department, and the Missing Persons Detective Bureau. Informing about his shocking disappearance, Zhane wrote:

"Tomorrow makes it seven months since we've last heard from or seen my brother. We've done everything we could on our end to piece things together, and at this point, we're in desperate need of support on all ends."

In the emotional post, she urged anyone and everyone to give her "some form of answers or closure", adding that the pain of his traceless disappearance has been weighing heavily on the family for months. Family, friends, and fans are flooding the post with prayers in hope of Beal's safety.
