Steve Carell's wife, Nancy is an American actress and comedian. Reportedly, she was born and brought up in Massachusetts. Until her higher studies, the comedian stayed in the same city. After completing her graduation, Nancy went on to pursue comedy professionally. She started her career with The Second City, which was a training ground for many aspirants like her. For the unversed, she played the character of 'Carol Stills', who was also Steve's love interest. Steve Carell and Nancy first crossed paths in Chicago, during the latter’s comedy training at The Second City. Nancy had once taken one of Steve's improv classes. Years later, in 2013, Steve had a conversation with The Guardian, during which he mentioned that their connection happened instantly. The actor stated that she found Nancy very beautiful but felt that she did not like her as remained very quiet in front of him. In his words:

"I was immediately attracted to my wife. She's beautiful, intelligent and really funny. She kind of checked all the boxes in my head, but I thought she hated me because she was very quiet around me. I thought she for sure knew that I was full of it, and I later found out that she was just as nervous as I was and trying to act cool."

In 2015, Steve Carell had also shared another interesting detail about his and Nancy’s dating period. He stated that even though he felt an instant connection with Nancy, he was very nervous to ask her out. He revealed that he used to walk up to her and ask, "Hey, you know, if I were ever to ask a woman out, it would be someone like you, exactly like you." To which Nancy used to reply, "If a guy like you were ever to ask a woman like me out, I would definitely do that."

Steve and Nancy Carell tied the knot in 1995

After dating for a while, Nancy and Steve tied the knot in 1995, in Massachusetts. It is worth mentioning that it's been more than three decades since their marriage, but their love for each other hasn't even reduced a bit. In 2001, the couple embraced parenthood with the birth of a daughter, Elisabeth Anne Carell. Three years later, in 2004, they welcomed a son, John Carell.

Ever since their marriage, Nancy and Steve have had undying support for each other both personally and professionally. Nancy often accompanies him to events and the two are frequently spotted at the red-carpet. In 2010, Steve sat down for an interview with People, during which he stated that even after decades, he tells her 'I love you' everyday and even cooks breakfast. He had shared:

"I tell her that I love her, and I will make her breakfast at times or at least coffee. I will also take out the garbage and empty the dishwasher. She definitely likes that, but let's put it this way, if I didn't do those [chores] — she would not like that."
