Back in September 2023, in an interview with Yahoo, Austin was asked to speak about his relationship with Dee. He had shared that both of them had seen one another many times even post the show ended. However, both of them had decided to keep things private. Austin had confessed that, six months after Survivor 45 was filmed, netizens were curious to know whether they were dating. Austin had shared that they loved to keep everything pretty private. In an earlier interview with Entertainment Weekly, Austin had said:

“This has been a whirlwind of emotions and we have decided to keep it low key for now. It’s been too crazy and it’s getting crazier. So we’ve decided to keep it low key for now, only because it’s been insane. Keep it low key is you’ll see pictures here and there."

"Things are going great. I mean, honestly, we’ve seen each other so many times since the end of the season. We’ve hung out. We’ve gone to all these different watch events. And I’ve visited in Miami; she came to Chicago.”

"We met for the first time in Chicago last November. Wild to think that our casual meet-up to talk about Survivor would lead to 10 months of cross country flights to visit each other. But ya know when the vibes are this good you can't just drop it. She's amazing and has made this year the most fun I've ever had."
