Shin-Chan has been a favourite among the kids from the '90s. The Japanese manga captured the attention of Indian kids and has since made a place in the hearts of cartoon lovers. The show was super popular and became a sensation among the kids back in the day. However, its laughter was not just reserved for children; parents too enjoyed watching the show with their little ones and laughing away the stress of their day.

While Shin-Chan came in several different animations, there was one common factor among all its series. The iconic voice of the character. Shin-Chan's unique voice was given to him by none other than the famous voice artist, Akanksha Sharma. The voice artist is known for her bubbly personality and her fun videos of her singing various Bollywood songs in Shin-Chan's voice. From O Bedardeya to Maan Meri Jaan, she has sung them all. And it was no surprise that it went viral in no time. Akanksha also met Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and said, "Aapse milkar bohot acha laga" in the cartoon character's voice.

Akanksha Sharma has not just lent her voice to Shin-Chan but currently is the voice of 'Nobita' in Doraemon. However, those are not the only voices the voice artist has given her voice to. She has worked in several movies as a dubbing artist. Akanksha even sang the Oscar-winning song, Naatu Naatu in Shin-Chan's voice. Apart from being the voice of several cartoon characters, Akanksha has also worked as a stand-up comedian.

She also won the 2017 open mic comedy contest in Chandigarh and also holds the Dr Kalam Smriti Excellence Award for remarkable achievement in the field of media. She got married to comedian Rajat Chauhan in November 2020. According to Hafi, the voice artist earns massive amounts of Rs 1.68 crores annually. Most of her income comes from her social media accounts and her stint as a voice-over artist. However, neither is yet confirmed.

The character made his first appearance in 1990 in a Japanese weekly magazine called Weekly Manga ActionShin-Chan's latest film, Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Our Dinosaur Diary, was released in Japan in 2024. However, it hit the Indian theaters on May 9, 2025.
