After four decades in Vogue magazine, Anna Wintour stepped down from her position and appointed Chloe Malle to take over as the head of editorial at the popular magazine. Malle currently oversees Vogue’s website and co-hosts its podcast, The Run-Through. After nearly 37 years at Vogue, Wintour announced in June 2025 that she would be stepping down from her role as editor-in-chief.
It is clearly one of the most exciting phases for Chloe, who spoke about the job being daunting. As reported by The New York Times, Chloe shared:
“I know that some people who were interested in this job were sort of daunted by the idea of Anna being down the hall, I'm very happy she's down the hall with her Clarice Cliff pottery.”
Chloe Malle joined Vogue in 2011 and was promoted to an editing role due to her exceptional skills. After her appointment, Chloe shared her excitement for being chosen for the reputed and responsible position. After her appointment, the attention shifted to her superstar mother, Candice Bergen, who was also connected with Vogue.
Candice Patricia Bergen is an American actress who rose to fame with her role as ‘Murphy Brown’, a television reporter in the series with the same name. For her role, Candice won five Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. She is also popular as ‘Shirley Schmidt’ on the popular drama, Boston Legal.
Talking about her career in films, Candice was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for the 1979 film, Starting Over. She also won a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for in 1982 film, Gandhi. Over the years, Candice has been a part of several popular films, including Miss Congeniality, Sweet Home Alabama, Bride Wars, Book Club, and Let Them All Talk.

Candice Bergen’s association with Vogue began when she began her career as a model and appeared on the cover of Vogue before making her screen debut. Interestingly, the actress appeared in the show, Sex and the City as ‘Enid Frick’, Carrie Bradshaw’s Vogue editor. She then reprised the role in the sequel series And Just Like That. She also appeared in a cameo in the 2008 Sex and the City movie.
In 1980, Candice Bergen married French filmmaker, Louis Malle, with whom she welcomed their daughter, Chloe Malle. The duo was married until his death to cancer in 1995. In 2000, Candice married a real estate magnate, Marshall Rose and remained married to him till 2025, as he passed away on February 15, 2025, after battling Parkinson’s disease.
Candice Bergen attended the University of Pennsylvania, and Donald Trump was her classmate there. He asked her out, and she went on a date with him once. In a 2018 interview with Stephen Colbert, Candice mentioned going on a date with Donald when they were both teenagers. Talking about the same, she shared:
“I was very young. I was about 18 and − Trump and I are about the same age, or as he would point out, I’m about six months older. And it was when I was at Penn. I was home very early.”
