After a wait of another week, Dancing With The Stars Season 34 was back with another entertaining and electrifying episode on November 11, 2025. The week 9 episode celebrated a '20th Birthday Party' for Week 9 of the beloved dance reality show. Needless to say, the episode was yet another showcase of glitz and glamour, as well as a heartfelt tribute to the show's incredible two-decade journey. Now,, as the show gears up for its finale in a couple of weeks, there is pressure on the remaining couples to deliver brilliant performances that combine technical brilliance with emotional storytelling.
Dancing With The Stars' week 9 marked yet another emotional night on the show as one couple bid farewell to the competition. And Ritcher and Emma Slater's journey came to an end after delivering an impressive performance, which earned them a 29 score. Despite their consistent and combined efforts on the show for eight weeks, their score was not enough to save them from elimination with the increasing stakes of the competition.

Meanwhile, the remaining couples, such as Robert Irwin and Witney Carson, Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa, Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy, among others, will continue to fight for the prestigious mirror ball trophy. Every performance brought a distinct energy and creativity to the dance floor this week, leaving fans divided over who truly deserved to stay in the competition. Now, as the finale is coming closer, every step and point count more than ever.

The ninth week of Dancing With the Stars featured a spectacular range of performances inspired by iconic freestyle routines from past seasons of the show. Whether it was contemporary pieces or high-energy cha-cha numbers, the ballroom was lit with entertainment, passion, nostalgia, and a strong sense of competition as everyone vied to lay their claim to the trophy.

Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy scored a perfect 40, and so did Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas after attaining 40 out of 40 leading the scoreboard for another week. Meanwhile, even Robert Irwin and Witney Carson got their perfect 40 after a long time and it once again proved how dancing technique is crucial, particularly with the theme for staying in Dancing With The Stars Season 34. On the other hand, Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa scored 37.

Dancing with the Stars Week 9 scores reflect how the competition has become more challenging than ever. Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach was another one to delivered a perfect perfoming scoring 40 while Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten earned 36. Week 9 has been one of the rare opportunities when 4 pairs got a perfect score. But DWTS' history bears it out that even a good-scoring couple might have to bid a farewell due to one week's dip in scores.

Later in the evening, the Relay Dance Competition added stars to the night in a highly-awaited return. This time, the format came with a twist: every pair shared the same song, with one performing the first half and another taking over for the second halfsecond half. Judges then award two bonus points to the relay winners. Whitney and Leavitt, and Mark Ballas, who topped the scoreboard on the last 'Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Night, got to skip the challenges and were automatically rewarded two bonus points. Jordan and Apolo, Dylan and Rumer, Robert and Xochiti won the relay round.
Another aspect that added to the night's nostalgia was the dance reality show welcoming back its original host, Tom Bergeron. He came as the guest judge for his special episode. For those unaware, Tom had hosted the show for 14 years from 2005 to 2009, and he could have been a better judge based on the 20th anniversary celebrations theme. Before his stint, Tom addressed his return to the stage on Good Morning America and said:
"It feels really good. I'm really looking forward to it. I think 20 years of any primetime show is amazing, but for a show that's 20 years old that's also having a ratings resurgence, you're more likely to see a zebra playing the piano."

The night also opened with a grand dance number choreographed by Derek Hough, performing a live rendition of the DWTS theme by Ray Chew. It featured a reunion of six original pros from Season 1, where life came full circle for fans on the show.

Since the Dancing With The Stars finale is set to air on November 25, 2025, the competition is about to reach the most intense stage. The remaining pairs will now have to bring out their ultimate best in the last two weeks to prove they deserve the mirrorball trophy. With Andy Richter's exit, the leaderboard has now shifted once again, setting the stage for a dramatic semi-finale ahead.
