Who Was Lord Sear's Fiancee? Everything We Know About The Woman Whom The Late DJ Called His 'Queen'

The hip-hop community is mourning the unexpected passing of Lord Sear, a radio host and DJ whose humor and cultural commentary made him one of the most influential voices in radio. The 54-year-old was a long-term host of SiriusXM's Shade 45, and his voice influenced millions of fans in his two-decade journey at the channel. Born Steve Watson, he was known for his connection to Oscar-winning rapper Eminem, and fellow artists laud him as a defining voice in hip-hop radio culture in the late 1990s through the early 2000s.

As tributes continue to pour in for the veteran DJ and radio host on social media, many fans are looking back at Watson's deeply private life, including the woman he had once called his "fiancée", and the health challenges he faced in recent years.

The details about Steve Watson's personal life have largely remained under wraps, and his family doesn't seem keen to disclose them now that he is no more. However, the DJ's loyal fans may remember that he had mentioned a woman in some of his earlier social media posts, even mentioning once that he was engaged. While he still kept the details at bay, Watson had previously spoken fondly about his fiancée, whom he referred to as his "queen." In a post, the DJ had written, “Love My Queen So Much Ya Heard, Follow Her Right Now.” In another one, he had shared a heartfelt message about his lady love, writing:

“Thinking about my beautiful fiancé every day I had to put this up here listen to the lyrics and understand what’s going on."

He tagged a woman named Mona Giamanco in the posts, but little else is publicly known about their relationship, and there's no official confirmation that they ever married. Based on her Instagram bio, Giamanco, also known as “Hey Mona!” or “Make It Happen Mona,” is a U.S.-based strategist, radio personality, media director, and plus-size model. Just like Lord Sear, she is also affiliated with Eminem's hip-hop channel, SiriusXM's Shade 45.

Although her social media profiles are private, her Instagram bio indicates that Mona has worked closely with Watson over the years, and her profile picture also features a photo with the late DJ. She currently serves as the Director of Media & Communications for UEP, an organization co-founded by popular Newark-based rapper, Redman (real name Reginald Noble). She may have been Lord Sear's manager and strategist, as her bio indicates that any inquiries or bookings for the late DJ's shows went through her. She has remained an active part of SiriusXM's Shade 45, and it may have been the source of her relationship with Lord Sear.

Amid the flood of tributes on social media, a particular comment from Lord Sear's friend and colleague, DJ Premier, has raised concerns about whether his death was natural. Premier mentioned that he had just spoken to Sear on Monday, March 9, 2026, and he "sounded fine." He was allegedly joking around in what has now been their last call. He wrote:

"Love You Sear. Crazy we spoke Monday night and you sounded fine. Snapping on each other like we always do."
