Mukesh Ambani and his family are famously known for their rich lifestyle and extensive business. While the Ambanis belonged to the rich class, his wife, Nita Ambani, earlier Nita Dalal, belonged to a middle-class family. Her father, Ravindrabhai Dalal was the senior executive of the Birla group. Mukesh Ambani’s mother, Kokilaben Ambani had seen Nita at an event and had decided to make the former teacher, her daughter-in-law.
Over the years, Nita Ambani has proved that she is not just a wife of a millionaire. She is not only the chairperson and founder of the Reliance Foundation and a non-executive director of Reliance Industries, but she also owns the Mumbai Indians, cricket team. Nita Ambani is the founder and chairperson of Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Mumbai. She had topped the 'Asia's 50 Power Businesswomen' list of April 2016 issue.

Mukesh Ambani with his wife, Nita Ambani and children, Anant Ambani, Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani live in their palatial abode, Antilia, located in South Mumbai’s Altamount Road. Antilia is estimated to be the world's second most expensive property after London’s prestigious Buckingham Palace. Mukesh and Nita’s heavenly mansion costs an estimated $1-2 billion. The 27-storey skyscraper reaches 570 feet with over 400,000 square feet of interior space against the Mumbai skyline. Every floor of the building is the same height as an average 2-storey building which gives the feel of a 40-storey building. The architectural design of Antilia makes it strong enough to survive an earthquake of 8 on the Richter scale.
With an abode as luxurious as Antilia, the Ambani family still lives on the 27th floor, leaving the 26 floors. On the 27th story lives Mukesh Ambani with his wife, Nita Ambani, their son, Akash Ambani and daughter-in-law, Shloka Mehta with their baby, Prithvi Akash Ambani. Mukesh and Nita's second son, Anant Ambani too lives with them on the 27th floor. According to a Business Insider report, Nita Ambani wanted all the rooms to have enough sunlight, and thus, she decided to stay upstairs. It is also said that only close people are allowed on the 27th floor of the building.

For the unversed, Nita Ambani and Mukesh Ambani’s love story is inspiring. The duo had tied the knot in the year 1985 when Nita was just 20-years-old. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Nita had talked about her husband, Mukesh and how he believed in her vision. She had said:
"Mukesh has always believed in my convictions and stood by me in all my projects. He inspires and encourages me to do my best. As husband and wife, as parents to our children, we always nurtured a mutually appreciative and sharing approach. Our dreams have grown from the life philosophy of partnership while having the freedom to express each one’s point of view and being able to empathise with each other. For us, all the dreams are joint dreams, they are our family dreams, with the children also inspiring and influencing every element of our dreams. We would like it to be that way always."
Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani's proposal story is also adorable. After a lot of meetings, like any other couple, they had gone for a date where Mukesh had taken Nita for a drive on the streets of Mumbai. And, that was where he had lovingly and unrealistically stopped his car to pop the question: “Will you marry me?” Nita was taken aback when Mukesh had said:
“Tell me now or I won’t start the car.”
Mukesh and Nita Ambani's heavenly mansion cost an estimated 1-2 billion dollars, which converts to approx. Rs. 1,481 crores.
