Cheryl Burke is in the news as she returns to the popular show, Dancing With The Stars, after three years of announcing her retirement. This time, she will not be a contestant on the show but rather will be a guest judge for the 2025 Halloween special. She left the show in 2022 after 26 seasons to pursue personal growth. Let us read on to know why she left the show.
Cheryl Burke was a participant on Dancing With The Stars for 26 seasons. She was part of the show from seasons 2 to 19, then returned for seasons 23 to 26, making her one of the longest-running stars on the show. There were several reasons for Cheryl Burke’s exit from the ballroom in 2022, and one of them was the physical demands of the show.

The constant rehearsals took a toll on Cheryl’s health, and she decided that her body needed a break. She also wanted to move on and try new things in her career. Speaking to ETimes, Cheryl spoke about the reason for her exit from the show and said:
“There is wear and tear. But also, my heart is telling me to see what else is out there. We are human and we evolve. I do. At least I would like to say that I am a work in progress forever. I do know, though, that this is not the end of my career and I want to be able to see what else is out there. And Dancing with the Stars, the schedule is so intense. I've got so many projects that I've been working on."

After her exit from the show, Cheryl Burke focused on her podcast, The Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans. She also channelled her energy into advocating for mental health. Talking about the same, she said:
“I am excited about the idea of evolving, about being challenged in new ways, having the ability to expand my commitment to mental health advocacy, focusing on my new found love for podcasting. I'm ready to face the uncertainty of what the future holds.”

The two-time Mirrorball winner, Cheryl Burke, is back in the ballroom within three years of announcing her retirement. She returned only as a guest judge on the show’s Halloween special, and the ballroom welcomed her warmly. Taking to her IG handle, Cheryl announced her return to the show and penned:

“It's been 3 years since my final dance and official retirement, and I still remember that night like it was yesterday. To return now, from the other side of the floor, is something I'll never take for granted.”
