Why Did Corey Feldman Divorce His Third Wife, Courtney? Truth About Health Issues And Money Drama

Corey Feldman is making headlines once again, but this time it is for his professional comeback. The Goonies star will be competing in the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars that will premiere on September 16, 2025, on ABC and Disney+. While fans are excited to see him on the star-studded dance floor, he is simultaneously making his way through a messy divorce from his third wife, Courtney Anne Mitchell. Here's what led to the end of their decade-old love story. 

Why did Corey Feldman divorce Courtney Anne Mitchell? 

Corey Feldman and Courtney Anne Mitchell, who began dating in 2012, took their relationship ahead and tied the knot in Las Vegas in 2016 after the actor-musician's separation from his second wife. However, just like many good love stories come to an end, they decided to part ways in August 2021, after nearly seven years of their marriage. Initially, in their formal divorce statement, the actor mentioned that 'irreconcilable differences' led to the end of his marriage in court filings. 

Later, Courtney Feldman came forward and revealed that she had been struggling with multiple health issues after COVID-19, like chronic fatigue syndrome, hives and other conditions. Due to the frequent illness, she couldn't go on tours with her then-husband, Corey, which made them grow apart. She also admitted that once she stopped 'partying' and using recreational drugs, she got a better clarity on her relationship with Corey. Sharing more details on the split, the latter said:

"We have been through so much together and still have much love and respect for each other. There is no one to blame. This is a case of life becoming really hard, Courtney dealing with health issues, and two people who have grown apart and now find themselves at a crossroads."

Corey Feldman and Courtney's divorce proceedings got complex due to their bitter money battle

After Corey Feldman filed for divorce from Courtney in 2023, the quiet separation quickly turned into a financial tug-of-war. While Courtney felt her spousal support wasn't enough and asked for more, the actor claimed in court documents that he is drowning in debt. He presented papers pointing towards unpaid taxes of nearly USD 192,000 and credit card balances totalling USD 42,000 in November 2024.

He declared he earns just over USD 2,500 per month and could not afford to continue paying Courtney large amounts of money. In contrast, she alleged that he earned more than he claimed from band tours, fan conventions, cameo videos, and even 'Funko' dolls based on his image. She argued that, against that amount, the USD 2,000 that he gave her every month wasn't enough and asked for a raise to USD 5,000. Courtney revealed she was working as a barista and barely managed her health expenses, putting the case in a mayhem.
