American singer and songwriter Joe Walsh has been roped in as a mega mentor on NBC's singing competition show, The Voice, season 28. Joe is best known as a member of the rock band the Eagles and has also worked with many other bands. He has written many solo albums, which include Rocky Mountain Way, Life’s Been Good, All Night Long, A Life of Illusion, and many others.
Joe’s personal life, too, has gained a lot of attention. The singer, who has been married five times, has been in many high-profile relationships. However, his affair with singer Stevie Nicks is still a much-talked-about topic. Joe and Stevie had been in a passionate relationship for three years before parting ways. What led to their split? It was in 1983 that Stevie Nicks first met Joe Walsh when she walked into the Mansions Hotel in Dallas, Texas. She was smitten by Joe’s charming personality and couldn’t help but fall for him madly. In an interview with The Telegraph, Stevie recalled her first meeting with Joe and stated:
“I looked at him and I walked across the room and I sat on the bar stool next to him, and two seconds later I crawled into his lap, and that was it.”

Joe Walsh was married before meeting Stevie and lost his eldest daughter, Emma, in a car accident when she was just three. In her memory, Joe had a fountain and a memorial plaque placed in a park where she played. Joe Walsh’s album, So What, featured a song for his daughter, Emma. While on a musical tour with Stevie, Joe took her to the park's fountain.

Joe Walsh and Stevie Nicks' relationship was perfect. They were madly in love with each other as they were perfect together. So much so that they were all set to get married. Speaking about it, she once stated, “I would probably have changed my life around for him.” But destiny had other plans, and they parted ways.

While everything was perfect in Joe and Stevie’s relationship, their addiction to substances led to their split. In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Stevie revealed the reason behind her split from Joe and said:
“Joe and I broke up because of the coke. He told my friend and singer Sharon Celani, 'I'm leaving Stevie, because I'm afraid that one of us is going to die. And the other one won't be able to save the other person, because our cocaine habit has become so over the top now that neither of us can live through this. So the only way to save both of us is for me to leave.”

While Stevie Nicks and Joe Walsh’s breakup might have been important for their well-being. But it left her devastated, and she couldn’t get over him. It took her many years to get over Joe, as she believed their souls were connected. Speaking about the effect of the tumultuous breakup on her, Stevie once said, “There was no other man in the world for me."
In her 1991 compilation album, TimeSpace, Stevie wrote the song, Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You?, as a tribute to Joe Walsh. Not just this, she didn’t even shy away from talking about her tribute to Joe, thanking him for inspiring her. Talking about the same, she said:
“Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You?" was for Walsh, writing: "I guess in a very few rare cases, some people find someone that they fall in love with the very first time they see them. I never believed in that until that night I walked into a party after a gig at the hotel, and from across the room, without my glasses, I saw this man, and I walked straight to him. Thank you, Joe, for the most committed song I ever wrote. But more than that, thank you for inspiring me in so many ways.”
