Scott Wolf And Kelley Wolf's Ugly Divorce, Here's Why She Wasn't Given The Custody Of Their Children

Scott Wolf and his wife, Kelley Wolf, are back in the headlines after the announcement of their split in June 2025. Ever since the couple announced the news of their separation after 21 years of marriage, there has been a lot of drama doing the rounds with Kelley making shocking allegations against her husband, Scott.

And now, the actor broke his silence on the allegations made against him. After keeping mum for a long time, Scott recently revealed his side of the story and shared that the allegations levied by his estranged wife, Kelley, against him are false. The actor stated that he has been keeping quiet for a long time for the sake of his kids.

When Kelley and Scott announced their split, he was granted a temporary restraining order against Kelley, and the court had given the custody of their children to him. Why didn’t Kelley get the custody of her children?

When Kelley and Scott filed for divorce, the custody of their three kids, Jackson, 16, Miller, 12, and daughter Lucy, 11, was given to Scott, while Kelley only received visitation rights. Not just this, Kelley’s parental time was also suspended. As per the legal documents, Kelley’s behaviour was said to be a threat to their children. The document stated:

“Kelley has engaged in an escalating pattern of behaviour that poses a substantial threat of immediate and irreparable harm to the parties' minor children."

Not just this, the court has also ordered Kelley not to meet her children till a private guardian is appointed. She was also asked not to post anything related to her divorce, minor children or parenting on social media.

Kelley tried to take the kids out of the country

Kelley was held back from meeting her kids after she attempted to take their minor children out of the country. This was the prime reason for the court to grant Scott a restraining order. Kelley was detained by the Utah authorities for making concerning comments about her split from Scott on an Instagram Live. Kelley later claimed that she was placed under an ‘involuntary 5150’, a critical intervention used to detain individuals who are a danger to themselves.

This was not the first episode of Kelley's outrageous act. She was earlier placed on a second involuntary psychiatric hold following an alleged incident which involved a knife. She was held for a week at a treatment centre in Salt Lake City.

Kelley and Scott Wolf’s son, Jackson, calls his mother ‘insane’

In one of her Instagram Live sessions, Kelley Wolf shared that she tried to enter her home in Park City to get her basic items. The video was posted two weeks after the court had placed a restraining order on her. In the video, Kelley revealed that she tried everything to get into her home but couldn’t. She was quoted as saying:

“I’ve spent the last nights sleeping in my car because Sundance Mountain Resort has banned me. I’m currently about to meet up with a deputy … who’s going to escort me into my home so I can get some money that I have saved because I now have only $6 to my name. I’m sick of sleeping in my car. I’m sick of being treated like I’m crazy, and by the way, I might be a little crazy.”

Soon after Kelley’s live video, people started responding to it. However, what caught everyone’s attention was Kelley and Scott’s 16-year-old son, Jackson, who responded to her video and wrote in the comment section:

“This is insane mom what are you doing.”

What led to Scott Wolf and Kelley Wolf’s split?

Scott Wolf met Kelley in 2002, and they tied the knot in 2004 and welcomed three kids. However, after 21 years of marital bliss, the couple announced their separation in June 2025. She shared that it had been a long journey for her, which was rooted in hope, patience and care for her children. Although the duo decided to remain silent over the cause of their separation, Kelley claimed that despite Scott filing for divorce, she was the one who initiated it a year ago when she wanted to get past the marriage due to psychological abuse, child abuse, and child endangerment.
