After Robert And Bindi Irwin's Win, Will Their Mom, Terri Join 'DWTS' Season 35? Here's What We Know

The Irwins have officially become one of Dancing With the Stars' most successful family legacies. After Bindi Irwin, 27, won the Mirrorball Trophy in 2015 with her partner, Derek Hough, her younger brother, Robert Irwin, 22, followed in her footsteps and won Season 34 with Witney Carson in 2025. Although Robert told The Hollywood Reporter he did not know he could dance before the show, he joked that their talent comes from somewhere in the family. Now, after two Irwins have been crowned as winners, fans are curious to know if their mom, Terri Irwin, will be the next family member to hit the ballroom?

Robert Irwin reveals whether his mother, Terri, is next in line to join Dancing with the Stars 

Robert Irwin has himself fueled the conversation around his mother's participation in Dancing with the Stars. During his conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, he revealed that he has already launched a playful campaign to get his mom on the show. However, his mom, Terri, quickly shut down the idea before it could take shape. In his words:

"Listen, the petition to have my mom on Dancing With the Stars has begun, and I started it. She is firmly like, 'Nope, I'm not doing it. That's not for me." 

But Robert admitted that he has not given up on the idea at all. He joked, adding that his mother would be great on the dance floor. Even his professional partner, Whitney Carson, chimed in during an E! News interview, saying that she has encouraged Terri to give a chance to the competition. However, for now, she seems comfortable cheering for her children from the sidelines.

She made a heartfelt appearance earlier this season, at 34, during Dedication Night and joined Robert and Witney during their emotional performance of You'll Be In My Heart. The moment brought Robert to tears, showcasing the close bond between the Irwins. During another interview with People, Robert said that his mother is an example of how to be strong, vulnerable, and resilient simultaneously. Meanwhile, fans who have watched her support her children for years, especially after the loss of her husband, Steve, in 2006, believe she would be an ideal fit for the show's storytelling format.

Amid Robert's victory, everyone knows about him, but fans have also revisited his sister, Bindi's, earlier win and reflected on the Irwins' bond on reality TV. Bindi is now a conservationist and the CEO of Australia Zoo. She has also starred in Crikey! It's the Irwins, and they won Dancing With The Stars Season 21 at the young age of 17. Her emotional tribute to her late father became one of the most memorable routines in the dance reality show's history. Now Robert's decision to follow her sister, makes viewers feel that the family has brought something special to the show.

On the other hand, Terri is also focused on preserving the legacy of her late husband, Steve Irwin. According to the Today Show, she has not dated since Steve's death and repeatedly said that she found her 'happily ever after' with him. She continues to run the Australian Zoo with her daughter, Bindi and son, Robert. They have all poured their energy into wildlife conservation and the Wildlife Warriors organization.
