Popular brand, Sports Chosun organized the second Blue Dragon Series at Paradise City, Incheon, on July 19, 2023, KST, after the smashing success of the first ceremony. Blue Dragon series is the first and only award ceremony in South Korea that specifically felicitates the content and actors of the streaming platforms (OTT). The glitzy award show was hosted by Girl’s Generation’s YoonA and Jun Hyun Moo, and broadcasted in South Korea on its national TV station, KBS 2, and worldwide, the show was live on KB 2’s official YouTube channel.
After the roaring success of the first series of the award ceremony, Sports Chosun returned with the second series of The Blue Dragon Awards. The ceremony has a long list of nominated actors and actresses solely from the OTT platforms. The award nomination included all the dramas aired between May 1, 2022, and May 31, 2023. This year Blue Dragons introduced several new award categories like the Daesang Award (Grand Prize), Original Sound Track (OST) Award and Why Not Award, which is given to an artist, whose work positively changed streaming services. Also, this time round, the logos of numerous streaming platforms were featured during the award show. This suggests that all the nominated dramas and artists come from acclaimed OTT platforms and collaborated with Blue Dragon.
