While honeymoon is a vacation of two people, Yami Gautam and her husband, Aditya Dhar, made it a family trip. From having a truly intimate wedding to Yami adhering to her traditional roots since the wedding, this couple has been taking lots of inspiration from Sooraj Barjatya’s film, where everything is about family. Taking things a notch higher, Yami revealed why she and her husband, Aditya took their families with them on their honeymoon.
Breaking millions of hearts, on June 4, 2021, Yami Gautam had announced her wedding with Uri: The Surgical Strike director, Aditya Dhar, on her IG handle. Sharing her ‘just married’ pictures, Yami had written, “In your light, I learn to love - Rumi. With the blessings of our family, we have tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony today. Being very private people, we celebrated this joyous occasion with our immediate family. As we embark on the journey of love and friendship, we seek all your blessings and good wishes. Love, Yami and Aditya."

The star cast of Bhoot Police, Saif Ali Khan, Yami Gautam and Jacqueline Fernandez graced the comedy show, The Kapil Sharma Show to promote their film. On the show, Kapil Sharma shared with Yami that he had heard somewhere that she and her husband, Aditya Dhar wanted to take their family on their honeymoon. He added, “Aapko kisi ne bataya nahi family le ke nahi jaate vaha pe ja ke banate hai?” To this, Yami gave a hilarious reason and replied, “Humm dono ki shart thi ki sab sath mein jaayengi.” Yami’s reply left Saif Ali Khan baffled, who mockingly said, “Really? Okay!”
Yami Gautam’s intimate wedding had come as a surprise to many. In an interview with Film Companion, Yami had shared the reason behind her impromptu wedding and had revealed that they had not planned it. She had said, "We didn't plan it, and it happened in the most beautiful way. This is actually what I wanted, this is who we are. And I'm glad it resonated with so many people... We started interacting during the promotions of Uri. And that is when we started wooing each other, and our friendship started. It's been over two years, and we were like 'let's get married', and our families were equally happy, probably even more happy."

Yami had further elaborated that she and Aditya were supposed to get engaged earlier, but then her grandmother's advice had changed her decision. She had shared, "We were just supposed to get engaged, and then were going to let time take its due course, but my 'nani' was like 'listen, this engagement and all is not a part of our culture, so how about getting married?"
Yami had also mentioned that it was only after her nani had asked the duo about their wedding plans that Aditya had asked the actress about when they are getting married. Yami had further added, "And then Aditya asked me, 'Are you ready? Shall we?' I don't know what it means, honestly. I'm still not able to absorb the feeling of being married. I feel the same, maybe happier."
On the professional front, Yami Gautam will be next seen in the movie, Lost.
