Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar are one of the most-loved couples in Tinseltown. The duo had crossed paths during the shooting of the film, Uri-The Surgical Strike in 2019, and it had become a case of love at first sight for them. Nevertheless, they were able to keep their relationship under wraps until they surprised their fans by dropping heartfelt pictures of their wedding on June 4, 2021.
For some time now, internet has been rife with rumours about Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar expecting their first child. It all started when the duo arrived for the trailer launch of the former’s film, Article 370 and was seen trying to hide a baby bump. Moreover, the actress was seen taking the help of her hubby while walking upstairs on the stage. During the same event, Aditya Dhar, while interacting with the press, finally confirmed the speculation and revealed that Yami is five and a half months pregnant. Adding how the news came as a beautiful surprise when they were shooting the film itself, Aditya said:
“This film is a family affair. My brother was there, my wife was there and there is a baby on its way. It was an amazing time, the way the film happened, the way we got to know about the baby.”

During the interaction, Yami Gautam, too, made some candid revelations about her pregnancy journey so far. The actress revealed that shooting the film during such a time period was mentally draining for her. She added not being able to fathom all the first changes of motherhood which came in her life, and credited her husband, Aditya and her team for being her biggest support. In her words:
“It was mentally draining. I could write thesis on it. There are so many questions, the firsts are always challenging. If you ask me about motherhood and everything coming together, I really don’t know what I would have done had Aditya not been there by my side, and Lokesh bhaiyaa, everybody….”
Yami Gautam’s upcoming film, Article 370 is directed by her husband, Aditya Dhar, wherein she essayed the role of a police officer. Naturally, the film involved her to do a lot of action sequences for which she underwent rigorous training. Talking about that schedule of her shoot, Yami revealed that it wasn’t difficult because by the time she learnt about her pregnancy, there was only the dubbing part left for her to complete. Elaborating more, she said:
“There was a rigorous training that was involved for the film. You want to be cautious, careful and I am thankful to all the doctors who were supervising this secretly. We were mostly left with the talking portions (by the time I was expecting a baby) so we could manage. But this felt surreal, because the baby was also a part of it. Some of the inspiration also came from how I saw my mother work her way through.”
