Yanin Rocío Campos Ruiz was a former MasterChef Mexico contestant and also a social media star who passed away at the age of 38 after succumbing to a car accident that took place in her hometown of Chihuahua. It was on August 2, 2025, when the crash took place, according to a report by The Sun. Yanin was riding with Periférico R. Almada when her car reportedly crashed head-on with a vehicle that was parked. The influencer was then taken to Christus Muguerza del Parque hospital, where she was critical for two days before she passed away on August 4, 2025.

An investigation is underway to rule out whether Yanin Rocío Campos Ruiz was distracted during the crash incident

The local authorities have shared that Campos was driving with Periférico R. Almada on August 2, 2025, around 6.30 a.m. It was at this time that her black hued SUV, GMC Terrain did collide with a vehicle that was parked. The incident was confirmed by the Mexican Secretariat of Public Security, which also shared details about the investigation related to the incident. Campos' brother, Raúl Campos, had confirmed that she passed away in a statement on social media. He had written that she was buried on the same day and a part of the note read:

"To family and friends. We inform and mourn the death of my sister Yanin Campos."

Soon after the news was broken, disturbing pictures of her vehicle surfaced on social media. Although official details related to what happened at the accident scene have yet to be released, authorities have not yet given a full-fledged report. For the unversed, Yanin was a trained nurse and also a professional before she came into the field of engineering as well as law. Although it was in the kitchen that Yanin found a lot of passion.

In 2018, Yanin gained national fame as a contestant on the fourth season of MasterChef México, where her culinary creativity and cultural devotion earned her a set of loyal followers. Her after-show career was then marked with culinary involvement, which also included a local TV segment called La Tertulia.

She had around 100,000 followers on TikTok and 75,000 followers on Instagram, creating content that included cooking, humour, and life reflections. Yanin was also on OnlyFans, which was a subscription-related platform, and it got a lot of admiration and criticisms from all.
