Bollywood singer and rapper, Honey Singh landed into legal trouble as his wife, Shalini Singh had filed a case of domestic violence against him and his family. For the past few days, there have been a lot of accusations and revelations from the singer's wife as she opened up on the ordeal she has gone through in the last ten years of their marriage.
For the uninitiated, the couple has known each other for seventeen years. The duo were childhood sweethearts, and Honey Singh had tied the knot with Shalini Singh on January 23, 2011. This year, in 2021, the duo had completed ten years of marital bliss. But, looks like God had different plans for this once-in-love couple.

Now, according to the recent developments, it is reported that Honey Singh's wife, Shalini has sought Rs. 10 crore compensation stating that she felt like a farm animal being subjected to cruelty. Shalini has filed a plea in Delhi's Tis Hazari court against the singer.

According to a report in Zee News India, Shalini had accused her husband of domestic violence, sexual violence, mental harassment and financial fraud. The case was filed before Ms Tania Singh, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of the Tis Hazari Court. The court has issued a notice to Honey Singh and has asked him to file his reply by August 28, 2021. It has also passed interim orders favouring Shalini, which has restrained Honey from disposing of his jointly-owned property.

Earlier, in an interview with Republic, Yo Yo Honey Singh had talked about his wife and had said, "My wife and I have known each other for 17 years. She has been supportive throughout my bad phase when even my family didn’t know how to handle the situation. She is a brave lady, and because of her, many things in my life have become splendid. She is a good critic as well. She does not always praise my songs."
The court has scheduled the matter for hearing on August 28, 2021.
