Meet Ashnoor Kaur, Debut At 5, Child Actress, Mass Media Grad, Youngest Contestant On 'BB19' At 21

The most famous reality TV show in India, Bigg Boss, is back with its 19th season. Hosted by Salman Khan, the highly-awaited show premiered tonight, and the first contestant to raise the excitement and enter the show was none other than TV actress, Ashnoor Kaur. At 21, she is the youngest contestant to enter the new season, and her words instantly made the megastar praise her maturity. While the actress and her fans are rooting for her victory from day one, here is everything you must know about her.

Ashnoor Kaur's journey from a child artist to a TV star 

Ashnoor Kaur took her first step in the entertainment industry at the mere age of 5. She was born on May 3, 2004 and grew up in a Sikh family with a natural interest in performing arts. Her first role on a TV show came in 2009 with Jhansi Ki Rani. Since then, she has gone on to carve her unique identity as one of the most loved child actors on Indian television. The actress played the role of young 'Princess Shobha' in Shobha Somnath Ki and as 'Navika' in Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, where she left everyone impressed with her innocence and natural acting talent.

However, it was her role as young 'Naira' in the hit serial, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, that made her a household name. After playing the character for multiple years, she next featured as an adolescent 'Mini' in Patiala Babes, where she gradually transitioned into a leading young star who performed emotionally complex scenes with ease. Until she turned 18, Ashnoor had already worked with some of the biggest stars in the TV industry. 

Ashnoor Kaur balances her work in showbiz with education

While many child actors find it difficult to balance their studies with their career, Ashnoor Kaur shone in both. She managed to score 93% in her class 10 CBSE board exams. Later, she continued the streak with 94% in class 12 despite hectic shooting schedules. She had recently taken a break from acting before returning with Suman Indori to complete her graduation in Mass Media. Sharing her photos from her convocation, the actress penned a heartfelt note where she mentioned that she had completed 70 projects, 37 subjects, and six semesters. Beyond acting, Ashnoor has often talked about her dream of becoming a filmmaker. 

Ashnoor Kaur becomes the youngest face of Bigg Boss 19

Ashnoor Kaur, aged 21, has participated in her first reality show, where she is the youngest contestant of Bigg Boss's new season. Her entry on the famous song had already created a buzz before the show began. When she interacted with Salman Khan on the stage, they discussed how other contestants might underrate her due to her young age. In her reply, Ashnoor said, "Nobody in Bigg Boss history has ever won the trophy at a young age. I want to be the first one to do so." Her confidence and wise words even made Salman Khan admire her maturity.
